Iv gotten to day 11 in detox from Heroin and methadone both. Still stomac cramps sneez here and there, some chills.
The back of my brain is messing with me right now "just a little bit" its telling me.
Some motivation would be awesome at this point :(
I really need a good reason not to go back, even for just a little bit today and no more, this is the way im thinking, it gets overwellming for sure when theres no one to stop you physicaly to get out of home...

Hello...I read your post with interest.   I have never used heroin, but I did get myself off oxycodone...yesterday was 10 months.    I really feel for you, honey.  Drug traffickers move a huge amount of heroin through Macedonia, and although the government is just beginning to recognize that their citizens have a growing problem, few resources exist outside of methadone maintenance.

You're going to have to find any resources you can...online meetings is a good idea, but I also think you could think about starting your own group.  There MUST be someone that you know who has kicked and stayed clean.  Maybe your therapist could help? I know it would have to be done with a GREAT deal of discretion, but your life is worth it.

The part of your brain that is telling you "just a little bit then no more" is the ADDICT part.  It is lying to you.   Completely, 100%, FRAUD.   When you hear that voice, tell it to go to h*ll.

No one, absolutely NOT ONE PERSON who has an addiction, can use "just a little bit then no more."   You have to trust us on blind faith here.

Fight for yourself honey.  Be a total sober diva here...refuse to ever put any of that junk in your body again, no matter what, no way, no how!  Be a B*ITCH about it.

It is going to be hard---the hardest thing you ever do in your life---but is will also be the best, most smartest thing you ever do in your life.    It's going to suck, and be very, very hard.    EXPECT IT TO BE HARD.

Thank God you have the internet...use every resource you can.  READ everything you can about addiction and recovery.   Do you believe in a higher power?  It doesn't matter what you call it, as long as it isn't you.   Pray for help.

Stick around here...its' a good group of folks and we will support you...

Hugs,
-Robin

Hello Again!
I am very Proud of YOU since you first posted! Look how far you have come!! The meetings on line would be great. I am so sorry you can not do this in person.
Mey, try looking up Addiction in a more Scientific way too. Look up Addiction and the Pleasure Pathways, beyond Willpower. There are tons of Videos and info about this. I do all sorts of Meetings and Church, but I have found this info very rewarding for one who has used most of her life.
If you can find your way around here, I did put some info in my Journal yrs ago regarding this. One is the Nature of Addiction and the other is the Pleasure Pathway. Like I said, there is TONS of new information out here..BUT there is nothing like doing this in a Group with others who have walked in your shoes. Maybe you could start a small group like Annie had suggested. Maybe you should order some of the Books they have too..You can get them from AA or NA. The literature is awesome. Wishing you the Best!
Bless

Mmm, that makes me glad I live in New Zealand.  We forget I guess and take for granted our social liberties.  And in saying that I'm very aware that we still have quite a way to go in those regards too in some areas.  Food for thought thanks Meygirl...

As far as the " just one more time" feeling, it kicks in big time after you've been about a week to two weeks in as I'm sure you're aware.  WE've just been through a horrible experience and the body is just starting to feel physically a bit better usually and we just want to "treat" ourselves so to speak, or "take a break" and be able to escape for a little.  It's just what the body does, but you've got to remember it's a dirty little lie.  the cycle will repeat and in another 10-14 days we'll have the same feeling of "I just need a break, just a for a bit".  The truth of the matter is that it is not a healthy way to give the body a break, and this is where the challenge of staying clean comes in.  We must find healthy ways to give ourselves that relaxation we are so craving, and it's difficult I know, but life can be at times. That's life :)  Our instant fix selves don't understand the ebbs and flows of life and that is what we must teach ourselves again.

You mentioned this isn't your first kick so I'm sure this isn't new information.  I'll stop rambling now, hope you're well other wise there today/or night for you?

Oops send by mistake...
One person will recognise you and before you know it everyone will know and its not a good thing.
People seem to love hearing of someone being an addict here and its sord of like "tabu" theme.
Even gay people stay on the downlow.
The mentality here is crazy, they dont have an understanding for addicts especially heroin addicts. They are considered junkys, bad people, and no good for anything, and before you know it you can lose your job and maybe not find another job.
Anything public is too risky, even the shrink i use to go to was so private, the meetings were organised in a way that no one will see you going in or going out, or even meet another patient. They have you wait in another room untill the "coast is clear" and you can leave.
Maybe a group online would be something to try.
Tnx guys for your replys etherway!
Just this posts help alot from you guys, just because we are on the same boat, and to be considered a warrior to kick and be clean is very awesome!

Hi....well there is qa time tested saying in N/A....one is to many and 1000 is never enough....what ever you do DONT PICKUP!!!! it only leads you to despair guilt and desuetude ....N/A is a life saver and they are everywhere if you look  google a N/A meeting in your area there should be one close by  you may have to go to the next town near by  but it will be worth the drive......when your mind is entertaing the thought of using  try to distract yourself  it is this obsession that leads to failure get your mind off it  music is good  for me praying always helps...............................Gnarly

Stick to it! Methadone much harder to kick then heroine IMHO, I am not a fan of drug meetings, cause that's all I ever did was meet drugs, but for the first 90 it will serve you well, Iam struggling with suboxone, there is no magic phrase or secret anyone can say, it's just something you must do and know that it's the right thing to do if you care to live a few years on this planet, find something to live for and do it.

Yeah, you need something to change or nothing is going to.  Ups though on posting and not just going and scoring.  Try watching some of this guy on youtube maybe  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oOf1eaPwcM   .

You have to do some serious learning at this stage, or things will likely remain in the same pattern.  NA/AA is recommended too and I've only heard good reports about it, so going to that before going your dealer would be an intelligent decision to make.

This is why aftercare is stressed SO much on here. You need a whole new way of dealing w/ life that doesn't include drugs. You won't find that from "willing you way" into it. You need new tools. The addict brain is alive and well when we put the drugs down.

NA/AA actually remove the desire to use over time. You have to do the work though.

P.S.- you should be keeping yourself protected: zero access to dealers etc. People have blocked and changed their phone numbers. You need to do whatever it takes. Your life depends on it.
