day 13 no Methadone

Well today makes 13 days and it doesnt seem to be a good day so far. I hardly got any sleep b/c of my back hurting so badly. When I woke up the pain is still there but not as bad. It is days like this that make it hard not to use but I know if I do then I will be right back where I started and none of it is worth it. thank you to everyone that has been here for me.

Thanks everyone. After I got on here earlier I got really sleepy so I went and laid down and was able to sleep another 4 hours so I feel much better now. My back is still a little sore but not unbareable at this point. As for the sore in my mouth it is taking its sweet time to go away but it gets smaller and smaller every day. It is now to the point where I can without being in pain so I guess that is better then nothing. Yes this last weekend I did go to church with my inlaws it isnt the kind of church that I belive in but it was still a good sermon. And it made me think alot more about what is going on with me and this world at this time and makes me want to start back to chruch. I probably will start going with my dad again soon it just really depends on if I had a bad night or not. Thanks again.

congratulation of 13 days. that is 13 days toward the rest of your clean and sober life. that is big. sleep is definitely the last thing to return. my husband is 57 and has now been clean for 14 months from a 14 yr. methadone & pill addiction. dont be discouraged. it is amazing what the body can handle. he didnt literally sleep for months. he would lay down and toss and turn. even if he did fall asleep for a short time he was in a very shallow sleep.take hot baths, try valerian root in sleepy time tea, exercise to help get your endrophins started again, take otc meds for your back pain and buy some topical rubs or sprays. i saw on your status over the weekend you went to church with your inlaws. the LORD has been a big part of my husbands recovery and our familys healing and restoration.
blessings to you

HI Jenn.....sorry to here your struggling today but thats how coming off this stuff can be it is very cyclic you just start to feel like you got it beet and bam your down with symptoms again
just try some otc stuff like advil for pain it should take the edge off my dr gives me 800mg ibuprofin for my back and it helps....when you go threw the sleep cycles the sleepytime tea from walmart worked good for me it comes in double tea bags dont separate them use them together and sip on a cup around a 1/2 hr b/4 bed Teena....the both of you are doing really good but it takes time and God to heal you from this just try not to fight it it only makes it worst
each day you get your getting closer to being done with it...I only wish my detox went as well
hang in there...btw Jenn hows that sore ?? anyway good luck to both of you.....Gnarly

Hey Jen! Congrats on lucky 13!! I feel you on the sleep thing. I was doing good for 4-5 hours a night for a couple of nights....Last 2 nights I got maybe a total of 2 hrs total.  It sure does make the days harder and aches worse. BUT...I Still wouldn't trade it for were I was. From what I've heard on the site I think sleep is one of last things to come back.  It is getting better on the whole(I hope for you too) I'm trying to remember good and bad days are a part of life.FEEL BETTER! teena

Hi... i have been reading your journey and you are doing great... don't let a bad day cross on your great attitude, Jennifer ... as i said, you are doing great, methadone is not easy from what i have read here ... have you tried a hot shower massaging your back, it may relieves a lil bit your pain
