It just so happens that chocolate is high in tryptophan, phenylalanine, and tyrosine. dark chocolate is best, so enjoy!
Yes it will, as your neurotransmitters repopulate and return to their normal levels. In the mean time you can take some amino acid supplements that help boost your serotonin and dopamine levels, 5htp, OR Sam-e for serotonin, and L-tyrosine in the morning only (try 200mg to start) for dopamine. That should help a lot. Also, See the "amino acid protocol" link at the bottom of the main page.
well im still a little sick i have been just laying on the couch just trying to get through this i havent been eating much but i have been taking some vitamins
is it normal to be depressed after u stop taking then?
I'm on day 7 and for 6 years I've woken up and either grabbed some pills, or got depressed because I had nothing and started my scamming on ways to get some for the day (being an addict is exhausting) well yesterday morning I decide that I'm going to find something else to occupy my mind. So I went and made coffee and had done chocolate creamer and I'm telling you, it just made my day for some unknown reason (probably the chocolate, lol) anyhow, this morning I concentrated on the same thing and you know, I didn't think about drugs for at least 10 minutes....which I thought was amazing!
So my advice is to pick just one little thing everyday and concentrate strictly on that...even if its stupid coffee with chocolate creamer. Congrats on your clean time and please stay strong. I read post on here ALL day and I HAVE to believe what all these people say about it getting better....cause without that, I'd still be snorting every pill out there up my nose.
I am working on day 8 today and know exactlly how you feel. Yesterday I was so depressed I could not work and had to go home. Today I feel much better as I am focusing on the psoitives. Mostly that I am now clean. From the board and N/A I know life can and will only get better if I stay clean. So keep fighting and think of your 6 days as a big step in the right direction. Life will get better.
