detoxing from roxys using a suboxone detox

Hello. I am on my last evening of using roxys - will probably use tmrw morning & wait at least 12 - 24 hours before taking my first suboxone - basically wiating however long I can take the withdrawl before taking the first suboxone dose.  I know there are many many variables - - but generally speaking how many days of using suboxone is average?  I am doing a 6 day detox - but many of the posts mention a much longer period of being on suboxone.  Comparatively speaking I do not have a strong or long addiction.  Any one with any experience detoxing from oxys/roxys using suboxone that could share some of their experience with me :) would be very useful.  Also after the sub detox is done I've heard that people are just generally tired and lathargic....  am curious how I will feel after the detox.
thank you thank you thank you

You should not feel much subooxne withdrawal if you use if for only 6 days.  You will probably just feel lousy from coming off roxy and sub combined.  One thing that can help is try the Amino Acid Protocl. You can find it in the top right Health Pages on this forum.  Its a list of really good vitamins.  If you print the list, go to GNC pr any vitamin store and start taking them all now, it can be really helpful to speed things along.  Start some aftercare to help out with the mental stuff.  Recovery care is so important.  Regardless of recovery care you choose -meetings, therapy, counseling - its so needed to stay clean.  Detox is the easy part.

Another thing to try speed the process up is exercise.. Go slow at first but try to get in a good 30 minute walk as soon as you can.. keep up the exercise.. It was really the best thing to help me deal with post accute withdrawal issues (depression/fatigue).

Good luck  and God bless.

Thank you thank you.  None of my friends know what I am going through so your words really help and make me feel not so alone.
Seahorse: Yes, I figured I would have some version of withdrawl on my first day off the sub (what we are calling 'the seventh day').  Do you mean just general ache-y & chills (those are my usual worse symtoms of withdrawl - - I am spared the bad stomach - - and the sleeping bit just depends) - - or just all around ickys?
ALSO:  I know energy levels run low when getting back to normal.  Any opinions on how that might go after the 6 day suboxone detox?  How long that might stick around if it goes that way?
ALSO:  What can I expect mentally - - I would say I am no more depressed or happy than the average person -- but when feeling bad physically because of all this it is easy to get depressed (of course).  How long have some of you others who have done similliar taken to mentally get back into the swing of things?

Six days is what I would reccomend..the shorter the better, your doing the right thing..don't let the suboxone haters change your mind, there are many on this forum...you will experience some discomfort after the seventh day (they have a half life, I think???) but it's not like going ct and four months is ususaly when the demon will come back to haunt you after being clean in my humble opinion..God Bless you and keep up the great work..you will have to change your friends because if you are around them when you are weak, you will be right back on them..the high isn't worth the low in my humble opinion...this too shall pass <3

By the way, I was 290mg of methadone for two years, and suboxone saved my life.

Suboxone, on average, is usually used as a maintenance therapy, but there are short term detoxes.  The longer you are on suboxone, the worse you will feel when coming off of it, because it is a very strong opiate.  It basically depends on the individual, ie. how long you used, how much you used etc.  Suboxone can be a lifesaver, but it can also be abused.  Be careful with this drug.  If you are responsible and take only your prescribed dosages, you should be fine.  I am happy for you, Good luck.
