diazepam withdrawl

I am in the UK and as well as a load of other addictions and problems over the years, this one has really got me bad at the moment. I was on a high dose for about 8 years and a few months ago they insisted on a reduction and its getting nasty now. I have also been suplimenting it with temazepam, lorazepam and clorazepam but have nearly run out of those too and cant seem to get hold of any anywhere. It is easy to get crack and heroin round here but I want to avoid those two. The cut down has made me drink heavily which is not helping my liver problems, I have started smoking again which I had quit, am taking extra methodone to help me sleep and I am getting anxiety, flushes, paranoia, depression, upset all the time and sweats, I feel like the world is against me and get tearful easily. I cant get prescribed any anywhere and all the people I used to buy extras off are either blanking me, selling to other people and not me, or were on the phone I lost hense I have lost contact with them. Its an absolute hell. The only ones I can get are imported small blue pills with MSJ on them and the dose is totally unregulated / may be fake plus they do not even look like the UK activas brand. I was quite happy on a reasonable dose and was even making steps to get back into work, that is now a pipe dream at the moment, I am very tempted to get a bit of both (c/H) just to take the edge off. It sometimes feels like I have bad blood pumping through my veins until I take my tiny dose and that feeling goes down but its not enough. Also if I was to explain this to my prescribers then they would put me on daily pickup and make life awkward so honesty does not get you anywhere, I tried that before. I have a relative I am very concerned about, I do not need to be feeling like this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hey Ben, we're here. What's going on? Stay with us and keep posting. I can tell you without a doubt that there is help here. Can you tell us the latest? How can we help you? When you read this and/or feel like speaking the help is right here. Benzo's are a tough one but it has been done many many times. I speak from experience and can tell you that there are ways help you deal with the wd's. Don't give up and keep posting. Bless you Ben...ike

I can not tell you to get off your meds or street drugs. I can tell you that after using/drinking off & on for over 40yrs, that I am glad I did. I can not take back the damage it did to me physically, but mentally I am a new person.

Adderral is what they use for ADHD and such. If you have this issue then it will calm you down. I did NOT so it would wire me up like my crank days.

Clonazepam (klons) are used for anxiety and also people who have seizures. I have read they use it for other types of seizures too, but I can not spell it..hahaha  This Benzo is longer acting so it sticks around in the brain/body longer. It was the worst of them all going c/t from and very dumb in my part.
I wish you the best and maybe one day you can give it all up. Maybe go a more natural route. I do like your honesty on here.

Hi,

What I want in the short term would be to stay on a small but sufficient dose of benzo's - to be able to sleep and to continue functioning normally as I have been for all those and recent years. One day when I feel up to it I will consider lowering then, its all been done for me now far too fast by the prescriber and I feel like they treat me like a puppet.

I originally got diaz for 'benzo addiction' as I began with a street supply then got it prescribed. What are Klons btw I have never heard of them before.

I tonight have tried 2 of those little pills - It made me a tad sleepy but it took the edge off - trouble is I don't know whats in them, I looked em up and they are not regulated here so theres between 0.3 and 30mg of diaz but then it could be fake and cotain ephedrine - I think I got lucky but still prefer the brit ones coz I know what mg I am taking. Methodone - well theres lots I could say about that as Ive been on it 12 years. I originally used it to get off H then I used H to get off Meth and went on subutex, then I relapsed and got heavy on both but right now I just use methodone. However, if I intended to stop taking it I would revert back to heroin as it is so blatently easier to get off!

So something I now know, I ain't narcoleptic, I was doped up to the eyeballs lol but taking meth at night with a benzo gets you to sleep - 30mg of temazepam usually works but everyones different and sometimes 'less is more'

Although methadone is convenient to stay on too in a sense as it means you have no opiate w/d, It took me many years of being prescribed 50mg of diaz a day and 150mg IV meth (at 1st, now a lot less) to realise that the reason I was getting tired in the day was mixing the 2. After the meth was changed to oral I find now that taking diaz and meth has a sedative effect - pukka if u want to sleep but that's why I began separating the doses, not taking both together.

Now, the diaz is low and the drinking is trying to make up 4 it, I know id be better not but then its kinda got worse since the diaz got less. I have had today 3 pints of guiness in the pub and just drank 4 cans of stella at home (although I am more of a social drinker usually) I have a bottle of scotch but may try to leave it.

Also, I never really liked dope but its practically legal and might take the edge off although I never liked it b4

Final point you mentioned - Yes I would love to be off it all but I am intolerant to this kind of discomfort now and its unlikely to happen I feel - When I am really high off other stuff I always used to say 'right, that's it, Im giving up' Now I am probably as clean as I have ever been but compared to other people that's not at all clean.

oh yes, you mentioned addrall - I can get that too but thought it was some kinda amphetamine, is it any good? And Klons - I have never even heard of them, what are they?

Thanks for your reply, maybe one day I'll be off all this shite eh! Its taking up a lot of my time trying to keep on top of it all and like I said I am having trouble getting what I want to keep me feeling alright.

Exercise I find harder these days also, I get very tired and the booze is making me overweight.

This is a Addiction site where people want to be drug free.
It sounds like you are doing the merry-go-round on these pills.
The Benzo you are on is not as strong as the Klons. Also taking Methadone with a Benzo is NOT good.
I got clean in 2012 off a long ride of opiates until I got Methadone prescribed. I was taking klons to come down at night. Also was snorting it with Adderral that I got from the streets. This Behavior was nuts now that I look back. ALL these Mind altering substance mess up the Nero-transmitters bad. It take some time for the Brain to balance back.

I am not understanding if you where getting the Benzo prescribed at one point for Anxiety. It is a known fact that after taking these types of meds for over a long period of time, can cause more anxiety in the long run. Also drinking can cause lots of anxiety and depression.

I am VERY worried about the Methadone. I went c/t off of all 3 and had one heck of a long detox. Physically was long, but the mental was yrs. This is because I am no spring chic, and had used off and on for yrs & yrs.
SO???? Are you here to come clean and get some kind of support.

It is so nice not to rely on these meds. You will feel so much better and your mind will be so much clearer. You can use diet, vit/min and exercise for treating you anxiety or depression.
