Thanks for responding. I have been put on Mobic for a knee problem, which has now resolved. I hoping that my pain Dr. will agree to let me stop the narcotic pain meds and try to use the Mobic and epidurals. I really don't know what is worse-the steroids in the epidurals or staying on Percocet. It would be OK if I really felt it was helping, but I don't. I had a sciatica flare up about 3 months ago, and had to go on Oxycontin 20mg for a few weeks. There was total pain control with that, but I've been on that Oxy slippery slope many times before. It's not pretty. Thanks for the info on the pain management forum. Hope you're feeling well.
I'm on a lot of medication for CP. I also have RSD, among other things. What are you going to do for your CP when you get off? Do you see a pain management specialist or who is managing your pain? Have you gone on the pain management forum here? That may be a good place for you to look for support in addition to here.
if you are not abusing you pain meds then i don't think suboxone is the right choice at all for you. it is mainly used for relapse prevention. it's does little for pain. i have a friend who is on pain med yet does not abuse. when he becomes tolerant, he has his doctor switch him to a different medicine rather than up his dose. he absolutely refuses to be put on oxycontin. it is my understanding that withdrawing from suboxone is very very hard and long lasting. others will give you more info on that i'm sure. good luck with you choice, sway
