does darvocet drop blood sugar

by jlswlpn94, Apr 09, 2007 12:00AM
per my recent post, I stated I was sick to stomach and jittery. I took two Darvocet N-100 at 8pm and at 1130pm I was sick to stomach and jittery, I was wondering if it was my body screaming for more pills, I stated that sometimes eating helps. Well I ate a bowl of coco puffs at about 12am and I feel better. I was wondering if maybe the darvocet causes your blood sugar to plumet? I am not just wishfull thinking, I know I am getting addicted, maybe not physically yet, but I KNOW I am there mentally, because I find myself thinking, I need to take a pill so I can do this, etc.

You should be taking this medication with food.  I know that even with the percocet that I take I have days when I HAVE to eat when I take them or I get very shaky and my stomach hurts a lot.  I'm quite sure that darvocet is the same as far as taking it with food.  I hope this helps.  Good luck.

Hi, in answer to your question about Darvocet causing your blood sugar to plumet, I have never heard of that.  I have worked in the medical field for over 25 years and if it does cause that, I have surely never heard of it.  You talking about Darvocet brings back memories for me - that was the narcotic I was taking when I first realized I had a problem with addiction, it was a very long time ago.............if only I had stopped then and gotten myself straightened out, my life would have taken a very different path than the one I am on now.
I hope I answered your question - and remember I am definitely not a doctor and this is only my opinion.  Good Luck and keep posting.

Love, Cindy
