drug screening

I was on percocet durring the last few months of my pregnancy for sciatica. before i had my daughter my ob and i agreed it would be best to do a drug screen to make sure the medicine was out of my system before breastfeeding in order to make sure the baby didn't get any more medication than she already did while in my uterus. they did the screening the day i went in for my c section and it came back negative even though i had taken it 2 days before (only 2 pills but sill) so i didn't another one last thursday b/c i wante dto start breastfeeding again and he aske dme when i took it last i told him the day before (wendsday) and that one came back negative too!!! she asked me if i was selling them which i so am not! I have an overactive thyroid and she said that could be why it keeps comming back negative, does anyone knwo if that's why? or what i can do to prove to them i was taking it as directed>

I was just making an observation because of the number of posts you mad asking the same question. It is not strange here to see people abusing things and trying to justify. I was not judging you. My intentions are always to help. I am sorry if this upset you. Please forgive me.

The question was rephrased b/c the doctor was made aware of my hyperactive thyroid, that is why I asked it again. She mentioned that since my body metabolizes everythign else quicker maybe it was metabolizing the medicine quicker and that's why it came up negative. I did a google search for hyperactive thyroid and drug screening and came up with nothing. If you find the question repetitive or annoying I suggest you don't answer it and move on :)

Yes, I've seen this same ? a few times recently....It wasn't harsh accustions from my OB, but it was a "she had to ask" sort of thing...but I do recall someone else having the same issue.  To be honest I never even thought of being tested for this drug before, I guess, I was super naive about it until my w/d's a couple weeks ago, now I'm all aware....didn't even associate the word opiate with it while I was abusing it...how stupid was I took just be taking something I new little to nothing about other than I felt great on it....or whatever....because sometimes when I'd take alot I didn't even like it but I had to have more...it was like coke to me almost...that need to have more gotta have more thing.  yuck.

Yes, did you think our answers would change? Maybe you should think about what harm these percocets can do to your baby. It is not a good idea to take them. Find alternative methods to deal with the pain. Accupuncture? Chiropractic?

Good memory,avis.

Flutteby I am glad you piped in. I couldn't remember who it was that just recently had the same accusations by their Dr. The patient/Dr trust issue, isn't what it used to be. That's for sure.
ELgirls, good for you, breastfeeding. So much better for the baby's health and well being. They have done studies and the children breastfed are better adjusted and healthier than those who weren't. (My wife teaches childbirth)

It's interesting I was prescribed it while pregnant too and they never tested me, but they also questioned me on selling it...I was in such acute pain that stuff was gold to me at the time.  My OB did only ask once.  The thing is, 2 pills is such a low amount, would it really show up?  I'm seriously curious....because that was the MOST I would take too, typically unless it was a horrible day I had a couple where I took 4 total.

That sounds about right. 48-72 hours and it is out of your system. And forget the comments on selling. I swear first they over prescribe and then they figure you must be selling. The DEA has made them all paranoid. If they can't believe you at your word. Tell them that it might be time for a new DR!!!!!!!!
