well i woke up this morning and just found out today is a brand new holiday in canada called family day. i just found out this was started this year and today schools and all government buildings are closed. i had no idea they just started this holiday until i woke up this morning. im just curious if this holilday is only in canada or do you guys have this too in the states. family day, omg, it should be renamed tortured day, lmao. my family drives me crazy, but i do love them.

Do we have "family day" in the states are you nuts??? We have "take your kid to work day"-and teach em how to slave every day for the rest of your life day.... God I wish we had that, how nice?!?!  I'm just back to work after a very short 10 week maternity leave and I ran into a woman from Canada at the Mall of America who says they have 1 year paid maternity leave up there-God bless ya!

i agree, everyone is entiled to their opinion and this is not the place to discuss this. i am sorry that i touched a nerve, and as i said i absolutely love america, but a friend was killed overseas by a roadside bomb for what. do you know what bush believes in. again no harm intented, but i stand by my opinion. i fully  respect your son for defending your beautiful country and what he believe's in, but i stand firm on this, end of story. enjoy your day.

i am VERY grateful to men and women like your son for protecting us and fighting for our freedom! it still does not take away from the fact that this president is waging a USELESS war and thousands of our men and women are dying because of it.
again i am very grateful to all of the troops, past and present, but this war will solve absolutely NOTHING...

Chi chi: I'm right there w/ ya on the kids...they were DRIVING me absolutely NUTS yesrterday...and it reminded me why i liked to escape on the pills..that is no longer an option..and I'm trying to learn NEW coping skills...

I am a father of a MAN that willingly joined the military, and is willing to fight and defend the freedom of us all, your comment about our President has touched a raw nerve. All I will say is at least this President has the backbone to stand up for what he believes is right, and has not cowered down to the political winds.

Yep, got my kids home today for Presidents day. They are driving me crazy. Teenager has been in and out with friends and cars. The little one is bored and I'm PMSing.

"Family Day"  OMG----yes torture--I don't even like to see my mother in law for christmas....But i might take family day, over presidents day, LOL

Torture day....LOL!!!!!!!  We had the ' Outlaws' over yesterday for dinner..PAINFUL!!!!!! Actually they are o.k.  My mother in law makes me very crazy.  Always has the better way to do things.

oh ok, i guess it's a good holiday, but brand new, i was surprised. i love america and americans are so cool, but i hope you guys celebrate all the great presidents you have had, except one, i think it's your current president, lol, how he is in office now, i don't know, it's mind boggling for us, but enough about that, americans rock.

To my knowledge we do not have that - today is Presidents Day, so schools are out, gov't buildings closed, etc.  I think I would be more apt to celebrate family day!
