I was on a much higher dose of painkillers for over 6 years. I was able to get a few pills, ambien, and valium to withdraw the first few days. The cold chills lasted about a week for me and the bowels were upset for 3 days imodium helped. I did use again, 5 pills and the chills came on again and the withdrawal of my body and mind started again. So if you get through the first few days, don't by any means think you can just take a couple of pills because you go back to day one again. I didn't use yesterday and plan on not using today. I wish I had quit after 1 year. I would have had MUCH better quality of life for myself and my family. I missed alot of happiness in my numbness of mind and body. Withdrawing still, 6th day or I'm not even sure, but happier for sure. Aleve helps my physical pain.
To be honest... If you're taking 4-6 (5mg) Tablets a day your WD's should not be "horrible". A little uncomfortable maybe but really 20mg's - 30mg's isn't a particularly high dosage. Do you have enough meds that you could taper with? Even if you don't and you go cold turkey you shouldn't experience what I would call "severe" WD symptoms. If you haven't had any since the day before yesterday then you are probably already in withdrawl and I would say that by the end of the weekend you will be over most of it.

The worst physicall part is pretty much over by day 5, then it's more fatigue than anything. Excersising helps with this, as does the Thomas Recipe that you can look up on this site. If you're going cold turkey I can give you some tips on how to make it a little more comfortable. Love and Strength to you!
