Hi there, Lianne....can you clarify a couple things so we can help you better?

If I understand what you have said above, 4 weeks ago you quit oxys, klonopin, and Adderall all at the same time?  No taper at all on any of them?

And you are still Ambien....and have now added lorazepam (Ativan) and Abilify?

Are these meds coming from the Internal Med Dr or from the Psychiatrist?
Do they each know what the other is prescribing to you?  And that you are and addict trying to get clean? (I'm sorry, I guess you are..don't want to assume anything here)

Girl if that's right, that's A LOT to put your body thru.  Just quitting oxys, klonopin and Adderall all at once will majorly put your body through a lot.....but then currently taking ambien, Ativan and abilify would definitely make me foggy headed and sad!

If you goal is to get off all addictive substances....it would be wise not to add more drugs that are addictive.  The ambien is an anti-hypnotic drug that is addictive....the lorazepam is a benzo that is quite addictive and the abilify may be prescribed because it is a partial dopamine agonist and is in a class with anti-psychotic medications.

Your poor body has been thru the wringer!  Was a taper plan not suggested or given by either of your dr's?

I'm quite concerned about you....you are trying to heal from that first drug cocktail....and now are on another drug cocktail.

Please let us know what's going on....and maybe some of the other forum members will have some suggestions, ok?

You hang in there....you're in the right place and we're rootin for you~

Man, I feel you.  You won't feel bad forever.  If you really want to get off the drugs, you will.  It's a really ****** thing, but you CAN do it.  I've struggled with it for over 20 years, oxycodone, then methadone.  I finally decided I'd had enough and it's been over a month now.  I still feel like ****, buy I swear it gets better everyday.  Keep eating good food and make yourself move even when you don't feel like it.  It's mind over matter.  You can do it.

HI, I would venture to say that your fogginess, at this point, is not a result of opiate withdrawal...it is all the benzo's your doctor has you on...you are on Ativan (lorazapam) and that kind of stuff always leaves me with a sluggish hangover so i never take it...it makes me feel more edgy the next day and groggy...

sorry its been so long....can't tell you how much it means to hear from people I feel so alone in this effort to save my life,if you will. I took klonipine mostly at night to help me sleep with ambien. .5mg of klonipine....1 or 2 times during day for anxiety. My doc has since put me on 1mg of lorazapam 3x a day,and abilify 5mg a day. Its been what 4 weeks now, and I still feel so sad all the time, not to mention the pain in my back and joints. I am blessed to be getting help from a nutritionist who is a friend of a friend. How long do you think this foggy headed sadness will last....I'm sure its hard to say. thank you so much for your support, Lianne

Liann how much klonopin were you on and for how long?
Did you taper? Stopping cold turkey is not advised.

You stopped adderal, klonopin & Oxys all at the same time?
Please provide some more info.
Praying for you,
Debbie

my heart just goes out to you!    No, you aren't crazy to do this!   I am on day 6 of coming off pain meds, and, I too am experiencing horrible side effects.   So much so, at times, I want to just end my life.....like you, I feel so helpless.   All I can tell you is that you are doing GREAT!   2 weeks....14 days feels like 14 years.   Look on an older forum on this wonderful site, it's from Jan of 2003.   That old forum has been my life line these past 6 days.   They can help comfort and reassure you better than I can!    At least you are 8 days ahead of me!    that's WONDERFUL!!   Those older posts talk about the Thomas Recipe!   google it.   But, since you already have a nutritionist and are flushing your system with vitamins....your doing everything right!
Older posts recommend to get out and walk...to exercise.   Even if it's a stroll around the block....and to drink lots of water!    That these two things will speed this hard part up!   Exercise and water does wonders....according to others who are going through what we are!
We can beat this!   they say it's VERY hard to think about going for a walk bc we feel so shaky, emotional, diarrhea, but, to just push past it and it'll be better.
I went for a stroll this morning for the first time, and it did help!    Just to get out of the house!    Stay strong!    We will be here for each other!!!
