Just new here and wanting any advice that might help

I am new here and found this site by being in the web searching for pill abuse. I was first given them 4 years ago when we got moved to Ft Hood texas my husband is ARMY. The docs there were so fast to just give you pain meds and Im not saying that i wasnt quick to take them. I could have said no but didnt and now here I sit. My mother gave me enough Lortabs to get through today and I am scared to death of what happens tomorrow. I dont know what this is going to be like and want to know so that I can prepare. Thank you so much for the advice and caring in advance I have been reading here and it seems like an amazing place with amazing people

Get the doctor's involved that are prescribing your medications.  They can give you meds that can decrease the withdrawl symptoms, but you will be feeling crappy for about a week.  Involving the doctors will also lessen your chance of getting more meds in the future.  Sounds bad now, but you want to decrease your chances of easy access in the future.  Doctor's are usually open and willing to help people who want to help themselves.  Still use the advice from the Thomas recipe and Amino Acid protocol.  the vitamins and minerals help soooo much with the pain and restless legs.

You have the good advice and resources to read up on now,,,,knowledge is power - learn as much as you can about this situation.......and dont stop fighting it,,,,,I am also ex military - - the only easy day was yesterday.....and fear will kill you...face it head on....many here have done it - best to you.....

I have been taking around 6 10/325 hydro a day for about 5 years. I have had alot of health problems that seemed to always end me up taking them , I want to quit so bad but im so scared of what might happen or how sick I might become.

Welcome , The ladies gave you great advice .It will be a rough week but in the end I promise its worth it .Never to have to worry how many pills you have ? when are you going to run out ect ect ........ There is tons of support you can do it :)

Welcome to the forum.  Yes Joann pretty much said it all.  You will feel like you have the flu but it is so worth it in the end.  Keep telling yourself you can do this and stay here and keep posting.  Getting clean is the best thing you can do for yourself.  Life is so much better without the pills.  Get some bananas too!!!  Stay strong....YOU CAN DO THIS.  Stay on this site and let us know how it is going.                  sara

ho amd welcome to the forum.  how much were you taking per day?  as joann said there is lots of support and help here.  keep posting it helps alot.

When you go cold turkey it is generally flu like symptoms for approx. 5-7 days. Everyone is a little bit different. If you will look to the right of your screen there are Health Pages click on those and read the Thomas Recipe which is great for cold turkey and the Amino Acid protocol which is helpful for your recovery! There is a ton on information in there. You may feel pretty miserable for a few days but it will be worth it to get your life back.

Yes, there are amazing people here and I wouldn't have ever done it w/o this place!
