hooked on oxycodin

I had a bad arthritic hip for years. I was using up to 14 oxycodin pills a day so I could work. I received my hip replacement and the pain is gone. It seemd that I cannot funtion well through day without taking the oxycodin. My doctor prescribred me Ambiet (10mg) and I take two and can not sleep. I was never told how musc to cut down on the oxycodin  so it has been all guess work. Sometimes I take one, sometimes,two and sometimes three. In any case, I am not sleeping. Do you have any suggestions.

Thank you for your insight. Too bad my highly paid doctor could not advise me of this route. I will contact him today.

Well if it isn't pain that is keeping you awake at nite, then it must be the drugs. I was hooked on vicodins but i did have a couple perscriptions for oxycodin too. I noticed that it was hard to sleep while i was taking them, even though they got me totally wasted. Then i went back to vicodins and had no problem sleeping.

Are you still taking them , like weaning down to quit? Maybe your doctor could replace the oxycodin with something milder while you are weaning. like darvocet or vicodins. they  are also opiates so you should not have any drastic withdrawls.

I have since quit by the way. 6 months clean now. Weaning down to nothing is how i did it.
