Hi! Did you do a taper ??? I sure hope so....Can you tell me a lil more, so maybe I can help answering your questions.
What was the last dosage you were taking? And for how long were you taking the xanax? How long did your taper last?

well i have been taking xanax for a year 6mg int the begining with 4mg of ativan so a year later i am tapering down but im not sure if im doing it right my perscription now is for 1.5mg a day so today i only took 1mg and will do so for two more days then drop to .5mg for three days then .25mg every other day until i took it about 3 times i think this is good but i feel weak most of the day and wake up out of my sleep if i ever get any again having panic attack's but i really want off xanax because i feel like i start to get anxiety when i feel like my body is craving xanax so if i am going to have anxiety i mine as well be drug free i really miss those days so for anyone with expierence in this subject or just knowledge of it let me know if i got a good plan and if you think the anxiety will go away alongside the xanax

Based on my research, it takes almost 3-5 days before anxiety totally go away.  The effect of withdrawals depends on how long have been the patient was addicted to a particular substance.  Withdrawals is the most crucial part in the treatment for drug addiction because it could be fatal.

Hey there, I'm back, sorry I had to sleep!!! lol
I read your taper, that was a fast one!!! But good news is you're almost there.
What I'd do is to taper .25 / week. so if you're at 1.5 mg/ day, take 1.25 for a week then 1.00mg then 0.75mg and so on. What is important in a successful taper plan is to stabilize b4 going down, don't stabilize too long tho, 2 days is a good.
Now for your anxiety and your attacks, did you see a counselor for that? Dis you go in some kind of therapy? CBT works pretty good. I practice yoga for years and the breathing part helped me a lot during my taper for all anxieties.
Keep on doing, it is soooooo worth it.
Best of luck to you. xoxoxox

My experience was I was on 4mg xanax for 3 years (could never miss a night and sleep), tried coldturky and had a mild sezier after no sleep for 3 nights. Went to Dr friend to help. Then cut down over a 6 mo period cutting the dose by 1/4 mg per week, the first 2-3 nights each cutback made sleep very difficult, but did get some, so it took about 6 months, as I would go a couple weeks on a cut if it was more difficult (not getting at least 4 hours of restless sleep). Thats how I did it, with no time out from work. Its was difficult, many nights I'd scream this just isn't worth it! Just stay on it forever. But I'd set my mind, I would read the Psalms many times and cry out to God to help me, and He did. I've been clean (haven't even wanted xanax for about 5 years now). I would never touch the stuff again. Now I've got on Oxycontin the last 8 mo and am going to work on getting off of it. I'm sure it's not going to be as bad as the xanax, hang in there friend, seek God's help, He hears your cries, He loves you more than you love yourself, and put your trust in Him, He will never give up on you, He loves you just ast you are, and what is impossible with man is possible with God. You will understand the reason in hindsight for the purpose and cause of this trial, sure it's your fault but God is Mercifull, He gives what we don't deserve. The problem comes when we think we deserve his mercy and love an grace - this is in fact the only way to cut it off (at least from your experience), as He only gives and works because of who He is, and if you think you've earned it, you actually cut it off. My boss can't come up to me and say, here, here is a gift of your paycheck... I'd say no way, its not a gift, I earned it (I prayed, I read the bible, I fasted, I trusted...) so God desires to GIVE us every good thing as His children, and the only way we can cut that off is to think we deserved or earned it. All manner of sin will be forgiven, we only need to ask and then believe. So ask away, ask God to help you. He cares, and He loves you beyond your wildest imagination, let Him prove Himself to you.
