I had 7 yrs of recovery until I got hooked on Suboxone. And all I can do is share what worked for me. First, I had to be sick and tired of the pills and what they were doing to me and my family. I had to admit that I couldn't stop alone. If I could have done that, I would have! AA/NA worked for me. And I had the best 7 yrs in my life being sober! I would suggest NA since hes into narcs. Those people can understand where he is at. But its all on him to make that first move! In the meantime, maybe you could go to Naranon. This is a group for the family members of addicts. This is a family disease and what I mean by that is that his using is affecting YOU! Your tied into this also! Its not YOUR fault hes addicted, but his using affects you in so many ways. Just think about it. For me, EVERYONE in my life had to leave me in order for me to see what I was doing. And then it hit me. And it was hard. But WELL worth it.
He will need detox but just a suggestion, they will probably try and get him on Suboxone. PLEASE see that he only uses Sub short term for the detox. I got hooked on Sub and now I can't get off plus the w/d were are horrible coming off the Sub. So I am back at square one due to no offense on my part. PLEASE be careful with the Sub! Much luck to you and if theres anything I can do, please let me know!

He takes Loricets, it started with a prescription but now he get them everywhere.  From people who get them and sell them.  He goes to all surroundings counties from where we live, just where ever he can get them.  He has taken as many as 50 aday now it averages 20 aday he says.  He has told me he will quit about 4 times over the last three years and he will for a couple of months then I start seeing the signs and I know.  He is about to bankrupt us besides killing himself and he is always like a sombie.  He says he is ready for therapy or whatever it takes because he is afraid I am leaving.  He wants to go to church I know that will help but it will take more.  Thanks for listening, will take any advice

Hey there. Welcome to the forum!
What kind of pills is your husband taking? Tell us a little more about his addiction if you can and feel like it. Does he get a prescription? How did he start?
Do you have any NA meetings in your area? that's a great place to start and it's free.
All my support.
sophie.
