hydrocodone addiction PLEASE HELP

Could someone please help me. I have been taking 10 hydros a day for 4 years and I am so scared that my liver is messed up. I hear that liver failure caused by tylenol is called acute liver failure and tha tit progresses very fast. That really has me scared. Have I been taking them too long. I have a constant problem with constipation. If anyone has any insight, please email me at ***@****. Oh by the way thats 10/650.

PS- One good thing is that the liver CAN repair itself! So that's the other reason to stop taking the pills sooner than later. Your liver enzymes are probably on the high side(some distress/damage is happening). When you stop, they will go back down as your liver heals BUT you WILL have scar tissue left on your liver 4ever!

At the peak of my addiction, I could take 10 @ a time a few times a day! I met a lady that took 60/day...now that's extreme! But the longer ur on em the more u will end up taking. Best to go thru the hell of stopping now then later and GOOD LUCK to you!

When we are addicted we will do anything to make  us feel better.   I would have taken mine even if they contained horse sh##.  I rarely worried about the tylenol being too high, I worried more about the hydrocodone being too low.  Today I am paying for my addiction with the withdrawals.  I cna hardly wait to see what day three will bring.

I took anywhere from 6-12 10-325 or 7.5/500 daily for 7 years and my liver enzymes were normal when they checked my blood in rehab, I would also down a mag of wine (to intensify my hydros) every night.  just get it tested to be sure, then try to taper down some or quit, if you think you have a problem, I definately had a problem, I was using to get high, not for legit pain.  It was at first, but I think most people can honestly say that, good luck!

I've been using hydrocodone for almost 4 years too. Not as much as u but, about every 6 months I ask my doctor to do a test on my liver. It's a simple blood test done in his office and they have equipment so they don't even need to send it anywhere. Not sure how good of a test it is but my doctor assures me that it's accurate enough.

WAY TOO MUCH APAP! i think anyone will tell you that...however i'm surprised you haven't had any physical complications already. Just a few days ago I had reluctantly found some 10/650. being on a 60-70 daily hydro dose I took about 4300mg of apap in 24 hours and began to feel VERY bad. My eyes turned yellow and I was scared. Anyway, I waited it out, took a bunch of Vitamin C and it all panned out.

My advise would be to obtain 10/325. I'm not sure of what your dr. or supplier has but I find these more common anyway.

If you are unable to find the 10/325 there is an hot/cold water extraction method you can use. I feel I have yet to master this because I have tried it twice and the finished product didn't exactly feel like my normal dose of hydro. Granted you will lose some in the process...anyway.

Good Luck, and for the safety of your liver. LESS APAP!

Hi there,

Yeah, that is too much as far as the tylenol. If your taking 10 a day at 1/650 then your taking 6,500mg of Tylenol.

According to Tylenol's Max Daily dose is 4,000mg. So you have been 2,500mg over that, and if you should get some blood work done, to see if your liver enzymes are to high! - Or if you start to have yellowing of the eyes of skin.

I had liver faliure once, due to accessive drinking, and that is what happened to me, with drinking on different medications and caused liver failure...but it did heal after a while. But I would diffently try and see your doc, and see how high your enzymes are.

Hope this helps you out some!

Todd
