i don't usually reccomend this, but with your not being able to take time away, and the hydros right there, maybe suboxone would be a good idea for you. really short term, and tapering down from them carefully.

Also, just to explain a little, my husband is very clean with everything his entire life! He is what I call a "good boy" :D He has gone through this with me every time and he swears this is his last also, of which I can't blame him. Anyway, I am trying to do this extreme cold turkey, with an extreme exception of my husband giving me maybe 1 10mg tab every twelve hours or so when it starts to get really bad until I can take the anxiety in my legs and body. My reasons for saying all this is only to say that it will be almost impossible for my husband to accept another drung in replace of this one, hence the cold turkey! Anyway, what are the effects of a cut cold turkey and what can I expect?

you are already experiencing the worst. it should be getting better every day. try taking b complex, multivitimin w/ minerals, lots of hot soaks, bananas, tons of water, immodium for the runs, (not addicting), and any other fresh fruit you can get down. you need the nutrients to recover and to help with the shock to your system. my hubby is squeaky clean too, but he was a great help. yes, the suboxone is addicting, that is why i hesitated to reccomend it. i never took it but my addiction was norco, methadone and xanax. much lower dosage of norco than you, but the nethadone was worse. you can do it, get the nutrition and it will help you recover much more quickly. if you are having a hard time sleeping, melatonin, a totally natural nonaddictive supplement, should help you sleep. good luck and my prayers are with you. keep posting and reading in here, i will be away on a trip, but there are many in here who were a great help to me.

We have all been down that road! I think these pills are the worst thing since the little cross tops when I was young. There is a lot of information on this site all over so don't disregard the back pages if you are new or been away for a while... for me, I had to do the formal detox but it's not the only way. People with more control than me have done it with the taper and also there is the "get off and get on" drug called suboxone. Do some research on that.... they have a website with some videos. They are in the drug selling business so keep that in mind... I am on it now and doing well but I have yet to stay off of it for more than 2 weeks........ Be informed as you make your decisions.
You really aren't taking a large amount of medication so this hurdle can be handled rather quickly I would think. For me at least, the hard part is that I set a routine time that I always take something to make me feel better whether I need it or not. The mental game is as bad as the physical one.
Try to vary your routine and if your husband is helping you thats great. I try to workout, hit the weights, run or do the stairmaster. Anything to get you in a positive frame of mind. Then at least you'll have a legit reason for needing the meds.
Try to ween your self down to two a day and then one a day and then break one in half and do half in the morning (if needed) and the other half at night to help you sleep and fight off the joint pain. I have also found that hot baths and aspercreme on my legs and hips helps along with a heating pad.
I even purchased one of the full body massage and heat pads and use it in the bed as needed.
Your problem might seem gigantic to you but believe me it isn't as bad as you might think and God will help you through this. I am not some Bible thumping preacher but I do believe that all things are possible though Christ and you can and will beat this. Remember, it started one day at a time and it will end one day at a time.
