My 1st real test...

I have been hiding inside my house almost 2 weeks now, scared and ashamed to face anyone. Today I'm going to the store then work. It's different now that everything looks different and I feel so different. I'm having anxiety getting ready but I can't hide forever. I have to face this and get my life back. I hope today the struggles are not as bad as yesterday for all of you. Together we can do this!

I'm sweating , I'm freezing, I'm sweating , I'm freezing!! You remember what that's like? You don't want none of this day 4 stuff ever again!

Nobody can look at your outsides and tell what's going on inside. Remember to breathe. Tell yourself "I can do this" , "I am safe, I am fine, this is a part of my recovery and one day I will be able to do all the things I use to do". If it gets too intense try focusing on attractive things and think about the colors. Repeat a comforting phrase such as "this too shall pass". Take it one moment at a time. You can do it you will be fine and you are one day closer to a full recovery

Power for you today on getting out, I hear ya on doing it, the anxiety is bad, but you can do it, I have, and made it back. This is very trying for sure.
I feel the very same way. Sending you strength, you are strong.

Good for you for getting out -- for facing down your fear. Living in our hearts & heads for too long can blow things out of proportion & eat @ us. What you're doing is healthy.

I just want to remind you that what you've done is amazing & you have every reason to be proud. So, give yourself a pat on the back & walk forth with confidence. You're turning things around & doing the right thing :)

Let us know how it went !

We're with you :)

good luck....dont let the anxiety get the better of you! Keep telling yourself no one knows what you've been doing. I felt like it was written all over my face, but that was my thinking! Even just taking a drive would help....blare the music...this helps as well. Remember, no one on the "outside" knows whats going on...its really us and im still amazed at 15 months clean, i can still freak myself out into panic mode. Sunshine and fresh air helps!
