The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude to me, is more important than facts. It is more important
than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances,
than failures, than successes, than what people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make
or break a company...a church....a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude
we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change
the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have....and that is
OUR ATTITUDE...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and
90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitude.

Hey, that sounds great!  Attitude makes such a difference.  So does honesty and getting support from family!  Now you need to figure out how to keep this from happening again.  Going to therapy or NA will help so much.  Getting aftercare of some kind is the only way. Trust me....I tried it a hundred times my way, alone, and it didn't work.

For the restless arms and insomnia, take a dose of nyquil tonight.  See if that helps any.  Some members swear by it in the beginning for a few hours of relief and sleep.

Hang in there.  In a couple of days you probably won't have any symptoms!  You can do it!!!

Thank you everyone!!
It just seemed in the past I would try and the wd's would kill me, so I thought.  But the one HUGE difference this time is I have told my wife everything and she is VERY supportive.  So much so it amazes me I am really worth it.
I was using hydrocodone mainly, occasionally I got my hands on percs.  but mostly hydros.  I would take about 30-90mg a day.  Yeah that is a huge gap but it all depended on my money situation at the time.  Basically the last year I have had them in my life in some way or another, but the last 3 months had been horrible.  Everyday I had something in me.  I am now about 60hrs into this and feel great!
The only thing I have is waves of anxiety followed with the RLS in my arms which makes sleep hard.  then of course the mood swings of emotions and guilt.  But physically I feel really good.  stomach is okay, appetite is good to fair.
It just seems like I am waiting for it to get worse but it only gets better.
Now cravings I have had a lot of, they come in waves as well.  But overall I have no desire to get them again.  I cannot loose my family.
Another thing I am slowlly seeing glimpse of my real self coming back to life.  slowly there are moments when I feel I shine.
God Bless!!!  Thanks for listening.

your attitude will be a huge factor in this, and its really good your very positive, a lot of it is mind over matter, and if your looking at the whole picture , sometimes its not as bad as we think it will be, look after yourself, best wishes,  sudie

YES YOUR ATTITUDE HELPS ALOT!!!! Mentally you can make your w/d's easier if you are positive. What are you withdrawing from if you don't mind me asking? And how long were you using? Thats great you have her support....that will also help you in a positive way!!! Don't await or dwell on them getting worse. Live in the day and remeber each day gets better! If you need any suggestions let me know! YOU CAN DO IT :)
