HI I agree with the other posters we really need more info to help you what dose did he jump from and how long was he on it did he taper or just jump off there are a lot of ways this can play itself out here...for right now about all you can do is be there for him...methadone is never a pritty detox...it can be long and drawn out ....he will need support to make it
right now if nothing else a hot bath can go along way in giving comfort to someone in methadone detox....the physical symptoms can last for around 2 weeks followed by 2 more weeks of being sick...it is the mental mindscrew that takes the work to beet and depending on how he went about this it could last 90+ days...PLEASE give us some detales so we can help you.....tell him it is the best decision of his life and in the end it is so so worth it

If you can give us a bit more information you will get great support here (Sundays are a little quiet so be patient). Anyway, was he going to a clinic and suddenly stopped? How long was he on it and what dose? In other words, just give us some background so we understand what he going through.
