Is it normal to fall asleep after eating?

I am slowly getting off subutex (on 4 mg. a day, approx), but I wonder am I having blood sugar problems or what? As soon as I eat I fall asleep. This has been going on for years, and is a "weight control" thing, as I hate getting tired, but this is ridiculous. . .
Now, with withdrawal symptoms, I feel nauseous, so I get exhausted and sick. . . what next? Any other similiar stories, let me know please.

THANK YOU AGAIN for rsvp. This is so helpful. I like the concept of rewiring the brain; I will do some of that.
Exercise is a huge thing. I have a pedometer and walk about 4 miles around the house & up & down stairs. But I need more exercise.
I think I have blood sugar "issues" as I wake up suicidal every day. Blood sugar crash. Since my appetite is weak, I am able to cut back on the sugar. I still feel lousey, but not as lousey. Progress!!
I am scared as tomorrow is a cut back of another 2 mg. I am going to prepare myself today by staying busy, buying healthy food & eating well, & much positive self-talk.

They say "your brain is a dangerous neighborhood to visit alone" in AA - that's how it is now. I have some positive mantras I am using. Also tylenol.
I have fibromyalgia (aches & pains is what it amounts to), so what's a few more????

How long have you been off subutex, Henry? You are my role model. . .
Do you work? I got "unemployed" from my part-time work so I also had to leave my partner - I just don't stay sober around him, and moved. All at once. A little too much at one time!!!

I am like a raw nerve ending so everything/everybody is bothering me. I am also fixing up
my place (it is falling apart, otherwise I wouldn't have the $ for it).

Just tell me you feel better now. That it is worth it to get off this sh**
This site says it takes up to 8 months for the symptoms to go away. What am I supposed to take for pain????

My first thought was that this could possibly be from your large decrease in sub dosage, as with sub withdrawals, comes massive fatigue!

But after rereading I see this has been a chronic issue.  Could you explain more on the "Weight control" comment?  At a glance it seems that just some simple Cognitive behavior therapy may help out here.

After you eat, when possible... go out for a walk.  Start with short ones, and move up to progressively longer.  Change up your routine. This will not only help for your detox with the exercise and behavior changes, but will also increase your energy level.

Look at it as your new way of life.  When I came off sub, I made some of these simple changes.  I usually take the elevator in all the hotels that I stay in, now I take the stairs. I used to brush my teeth first thing in the morning before showering, now I do it after I get out of the shower.  I now make my bed right when I get out of it instead of after my morning coffee.  Implementing simple changes in your daily routine helps the brain rewire, a process that is taking place anyway.

The nausea will come and go through this time.  I was lucky and never vomited, but It can be common.  Eat lighter meals, try some rice, broth or soup, toast.  Baby your stomach! Make sure you are taking in LOTS of fluids! Sugar and caffeine free are best, but I know we all need at least one vice!!!! :-)
