I was on a tapering dose of 2 mg strips for only 30 days and omg horrible withdrawals for 3 weeks!!! That was ridiculous because I was only taking them for 4 weeks! I felt great and didn't crave at all but relapsed only 2 weeks after.. I had 45 2 mg strips and the cost was $458!!

You can do it, and the sooner you do, the sooner you will be free. You gotta hang tough, and know that you're stronger than some ******* pills. I know you don't think you are, but once we pay that piper, we can get up knowing we need nothing but ourselves, and I'm trying so ******* hard to remember that right now!!!

What will you use to get off of the Suboxone? It seems you are on a merry-go-round and it may just be time to jump off. You cannot avoid the physical withdrawal no matter what you are coming off of. I hate to see you get into a position where you are addicted to the Suboxone--and trust me, that WILL happen. You need to think long and hard about what you are going to do. We will support you and help you along no matter what you decide.

BTW, you got some real good advise above. She is speaking from experience.

There are a couple of issues here with using the subs to detox off of some other drug.  I just want to forwarn you in regards to the subs.  NO MATTER WHAT you will have to detox off of something, methadone, subs, opiates, whatever....I don't really think there is a successful detox without some pain?  It's necessary.  You can't abuse your body for as long as we have and expect detox to be painless.  I was on the subs for a VERY long time (6 yrs) but I know people who were on them for only months that still had pretty significant w/d.  Methadone w/d's are a *****!!!  I don't deny that, but so are subs!  And sub w/d lasts for weeks, not days!  How long are you planning to use subs? Are you going to a clinic where they'll only give them to you for say 2 weeks?  Because I wouldn't recommend taking them any ******* longer than that.  They are highly addictive, and honestly, I felt like they only pushed off what I had to go through anyway (if that makes sense). Today I am 43 days off of 6 yrs of opiates and 6 yrs of subs....still working day to day, for sure, but whenever I see someone post about subs, I have to say something, b/c to me, they were a total crutch. Did you know they have opiates in them? They have an extremely long half life, so it takes days before full w/d comes in to play? I was so freakin sick I wanted to die!  We are not supposed to give any type of medical info b/c most here are addicts, not drs or nurses, but If I were you, I'd find a safe place and w/d off of the methadone.  Don't compound it!  Good luck and keep posting if and when you decide to make that jump!
