methadone withdrawal

hi guys, i was just searching the internet for things that might make methadone withdrawal a little better. i know inevitably its going to be awful, and theres not much i can do to make it better, but there might be some things. im tired of being attached to these liquid handcuffs. ive been taking 20 mls now for about 6 months and just cant seem to taper down anymore than that. i took my last dose today. Does anyone have any advice, or anything that made them feel a little better?

Try The Thomas Recipe and Amino protocol bottom right of this page, lots a fluid and exercise when you can.

hello and welcome to the forum im some what new here but quit methadone 36 days ago...so you can do this just be prepared for a rough 7-10 days (im only speaking from my own experience) most of the physical symptoms will fade after that time..then its just a battle with no sleep and energy...get the thomas receipe and pick up some whey protein shake mix, walmart carries it, drink 2x a day for the first month...this will help your body heal..natural sleep aids help but dont expect much for the first couple weeks but slowly it will improve took me 30 days to see any significant improvement...hot baths do seem to help getting some light exercise also..push fluids...all this is on the thomas reciepe...im sure gnarly will be along he's helped alot of people off this stuff (including myself) and was so helpful..just wanted to let you know it can be done if you want it bad enough...so worth it in the long run...o and congrats on this huge step toward your recovery!!!  Good luck and keep posting!!

HI ....jumping at 20 is going to be a bit much but its doable expect about 2 weeks of withdrawals a hot soak will help the most and exersize even if you have to force yourself 20 is pritty high to jump from but we have had members jump from 120 and make it drink pleanty of fluids sleep will seam impossible for a wile but will slowly come back the biggest complainant is the energy crash you wont feel like getting up off the couch again force yourself to take a walk around the block it will help your just going to have to tuff out the next 2 weeks then the physical withdrawal will be over...preparer your self for the mental end of this thing it can be just as challenging get comfortable with the phrase..''you just got to be ok without being ok for a wile '''it will serve you well going threw this keep posting for support we all want to see you succeed good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
