The reason that Ultram can be bad with antidepressants (SSRIs) is that they both result in more serotonin being available in the brain. There is a condition which can develop where you get serotonin overload (called serotonin syndrome) and it can be very very serious. Methadone is a different kind of drug from ultracet, so i don't think there would be the same complication. FYI though, I was on Effexor XR 300mg and the max dose of tramadol (active ingredient in ultram) 400mg for two month and I did not have any problems. Your doc should be aware of this though and monitor you for symptoms of too much serotonin. Methadone is addictive in it own right, so be careful if you go that route.
yes if mixing with ssri they both raise serotonin level ....the two could cause serotonin syndrome
I don't know whether or not you saw it, but I posted you about this yesterday. Check it out.
would smalll dose of of methadome be the same?
according to the paperwork that comes with ultram from the pharmacy, yes it can be bad.
