The great parents do put their kids first, I am on my second child and have been on Lortab 7.5 almost my whole pregnancy. I have a sever pain condition and a lot of damage to my neck and lumbar spine due to a car accident, I am carrying the baby in the breach position very low in my pelvis, this causes my pain condition to flair up and make the pain unmanageable with out my pain medications. I also have a very active 2 year old who I take care of on my own with out any help. I feel that your remark ''being an addict yourself or not'' is insulting and judgmental, not all babies born to woman who take pain medications are born addicts and suffer W/D's the only time this happens is if the mother is on a very strong pain medication and a lot of it, there is no known side effects to babies born to woman who take pain medication such as Lortab it is one of the safest narcotic pain medications a woman can take while pregnant.Yes if the woman takes a lot of this medication in the last 2 months there is a chance that the baby will go through W/D not not many babies go through that. I have done a lot of research on my own and have family who have medical degrees and I am getting all of my information from them and from medical books and medical web sites along with my OB. The effects caused by a woman going off of the pain meds while pregnant and having to deal with the added stress from the pain and or the W/D are more harmful then staying on the medications. because of high blood pressure and the W/D is dangerous to the baby in it's self. I feel that your remark was uneducated, close minded, ignorant, and degrading. Most woman who take pain meds while they are pregnant deal with a lot of guilt for taking them in the first place, and people like you making remarks like this makes them feel worse then they already do. Addiction is not an easy thing to deal with and dealing with it while you are pregnant is even harder because the baby does not have a choice and has no control over the fact that their mother is an addict, it is not easy to just quit taking the medications your body is dependant on. Even if you are carrying another life.

tell your friend to talk to her dr......There asre specialists that can help her...20a day seems like a lot, Is she prescribed them for pain, or is she just addicted? If they are rx for pain and she needs em, she shouldnt detox now by any means!!! This will 100% cause more damage to the baby inside her now then when the baby is born.....A specialist can help taper her down to a few a day to keep her out of pain....Trust me, the pain only gets worse as the preg progresses...I have herniated discs in my lower back and neck and rheumatoid arthritis and this is a living hell with the pain im in through this preg, but itll all be worth it as soom and i see my baby boy.....

dontlisten to beachtowel, he dosent know what hes talking about...,There is a small chance for the baby to come out with withdrawalls, If they do,,, it is managed, they dont let the basby suffer, they give him small injections to make them comfortable and should be able to go home in a few days.....No physical damage at all.......We as parent do put our children first, and i asked all my spec if i should stop taking my percs......I woulld have suffered the 9 months if they told me to, however, they said it would be WAY MORE disasterous to stop the meds, detox while fetus is inside me, and run the risk of being so stresses, high BP ect......The bad outweighed any benefits, so tha made our decision.....

I will keep u posted

To me the great parents will always put their children ahead of themselves and do everything in their power to love them unconditionally and provide them with the best chance to succeed in life......

A baby growing in an addicts body can you imagine that babies first memories.......W/Ds......

Born an addict suffering from W/Ds because the mother is an addict, that really sucks.........

I am not judging I am an addict and have done some despicable things while I was using.....
It just makes me sad when I think of a new born innocent baby has to start there life in W/Ds.....

hi im addicted to vic7.5 for the last 6 mths, ive tried to quit c/t but couldnt do it, so now my boss is tring to help taper and im gonna give it my all i went from 20 pills a day now im taking 3 a day its hard but im tired of living like this, my best friend have also been addicted to vics7.5 for the last 9 mths up to 20 aday and she is 6 mths pregnant, she doesnt know what to do but she cant stop, she doesnt have the willpower as far as the baby goes only god knows what will happen the only thing the dr told when she told her that she was addicted was that she needs to stop because when her baby is born he can have withdrawals.... its hard to c/t i tried it i tried everything from smoking weed to relax.but its hard maybe tapering will work for me as far as not giving me intense withdrawals, the im also taking vitamins and calcium so maybe that will lessen my withdrawals...........
