Wow - that is so impressive that you attended so many meetings! Which drug were you taking and would you say that 90 day rule goes for all types of drugs or are you talking about opiates?
A. If you stopped taking Wednesday, then your Clean Date is 01/16/08. Don't change your Clean Date, no matter what. Starting to use again never makes things better in the long term, it always makes things worse.
B. Take a look at the books: End Your Addiction Now, by Charles Gant; Seven Weeks to Sobriety, by Joan Larsen; and/or The Mood Cure, by Julia Ross. These can teach you how to get your brain chemistry back in proper working order. I couldn't possibly overstate how important that is to sustained Recovery. For the short-term you can try the Thomas Recipe, but I'd leave out the benzos. Just search "Thomas Recipe" on this site or on Google.
C. You might try AA or NA meetings. They strongly recommend 90 meetings in 90 days. As was recently reported in Time, it turns out that 90 days is just about the time in takes for the brain to re-set: "One important discovery: evidence is building to support the 90-day rehabilitation model, which was stumbled upon by AA (new members are advised to attend a meeting a day for the first 90 days) and is the duration of a typical stint in a drug-treatment program. It turns out that this is just about how long it takes for the brain to reset itself and shake off the immediate influence of a drug." This last time (the only time that's worked for long) I didn't have any trouble making 90-in-90. For the first 4 months I averaged 10 meetings a week, for the next 3 months it was 8 a week, and ever since I've averaged 5 a week.
