need help

my boyfriendhas been on methadone for one year. He did this tocome off a terrible oxy habit. went to the clinic first that gt too expensive, then to a dr. . He was taking way too many an ruing out to quck so she told hi no more early refills. So now he's detoxing. It's only been three days,he's been sleeping and he thinks his is going to be no big deal afterevery thing i'm reading he's totally wrong. honestly i just feel like i've had enough it's a ****** time to be dting. Could it be possible he won't be sick long or is that just wishful thinking on his part. He was doing or suppoese to be on 50mg but i know he would take much more?

yey...thought so...may be time for a drawer...glove compartment check ...???? honesty is so important in a relationship for sure.....he really may be "OK"    i would be getting susp[icious by now but i do not want to be negative....sometimes u just gotta know these things if u r planning long term relationships and such...an addict has to really want to quit..and that is all there is to it..and even then it can be hard..he is lucky to have u

I would think by day 3 he should be feeling it.I went cold turkey off of 25 mgs and by day 3 I was down for the count.I don't mean to sound rude here but I have the same question that worried does..Are you sure he's not taking anything?The fact that hes able to sleep right now,as someone whos been on day 3 detoxing off a lower dose then him,raises questions in my head.

If he has been on 50mg plus for one year and quit cold turkey he will be very sick by day four.......

Hope that he is not - but it is a Guiness Record event if that happens

well...it would be odd if he werent sick before long..but u know i have heard of it happening..but a year at 50 mg plus would seem as if he may feel it...3 days?  should be by now or very soon as it does take a bit to go into wd from methadone...r u sure he is not taking anything for real?  u know u never know...if he is not sick in the next day or 2 then either he gort very lucky or he is taking something?  lets hope he is very lucky and stay positive..onwe thing i would tell him if u plan on sticking around is that he will have to be honest with u..addicts are notorious for manipulating and being dishonest..hate to say that as i myself am one...but when he gets away from the drugs, that behavior usually ceases somewhat...good luck and keep postimg...kim715 knows more about methadone wds...u can pm her or she may post soon
