Thank you , for the kind words . I know i am strong and can do it , however it does scare me. I know I have only been on the meds for three weeks so withdrawal wont be as bad .
So i have all of my stuff to taper and for withdrawal now i just need to set up a plan of action with the specialist next week to deal with the TMJ .
Lizzie i will be strong :)

the term "backsliding" has a very negative connotation (backsliding is usually used in the sense of a dog returning to its vomit) and from what he posted there isnt any indication that he is "backsliding."
he stated the pain became so bad that he could no longer endure it so he took pain medication - and in case you forgot - pain medication is for pain.
i just used you as an example the other day and bam...here you are.
i am so sorry that you have been having problems are started the pain meds again. you did such a wonderful job before...so i am sure that you can do this again. you are strong avis...i remember that. start with a plan...and execute it. we will be here to support you.
huggs,
kim
welcome back, avisg. Sorry about your pain and best wishes for you in recovery.

I'm so sorry to hear about it but remember, it's not what you've done, it's what you plan on doing about it that really matters.
You did it before and you can do it again, especially since now, you have a sober reference.
I'll say a prayer for you that you find relief from the TMJ and find relief from having to take the pain meds.
Welcome avisg,
Backsliding against this powerful disease is nothing to be ashamed about learn from it and brush yourself off and try again.........
you have more experience now the next time will be a little easier..
Never stop trying .........
Good for you! I don't care who you are, if you live long enough you are going to have to take some pain medication at some point, for addicts it just really sucks! But those are the cards we were delt, so we have to deal with these situations when they arise. Good for you for coming here and talking about it!
Thank you for the post it really helps . I am very aware how much better life is clean but the pain just got the best of me . I will get back on track . I will continue to post .

Hang in there! This is just a part of an addicts life! Just get back on track! I have had experiences with TMJ and it was very painful. I can't stand when anything in my mouth hurts. I have just been sober for over 3 years and I have had to take a small amout of pain meds maybe about 5 times in the 3 years! It is so scary, but sometimes, there just really isn't much you can do if you are in allot of pain. Best of luck and keep posting!
