not going back

I can't withdraw anymore, its too painful.Been off pain meds since early Feb,I don't count the days anymore ,too many times.Just wanted to say the hell of withdrawals is out weighing the addiction. My mind is clearing and feeling like myself a little bit,day by day.Cant put myself thru this anymore,I thank God my mind is clearing.I have a lot to live for and I'm going live it without being stoned all the time,up and down, up and down.Burned my scripts, next Dr visit no request for pills, going to give her a hug and say I don't need them anymore. This time thinking of poping them again, poison to my soul, body and mind. Thanks to all who have supported me and have help me ---  med help rocks !!

Thanks for encouragement !! All good advise. I have relapsed many times for many reasons including legit back pain(which started this fun addition). In the past I was willing to play the game ,always felt this time I can control it.I know I can't control it.Kind of weird but I just turned the corner knowing taking another pill is going make my life worse, even kill me.Someone here said sick and tired of being sick and tired. It hasn't been easy but feeling better, some days good some bad but all better than going back to the chains of addition.I hope this helps someone

Congrats!! Best choice you'll ever make, but this is just the beginning. You need to get into some form of aftercare to start working on why you were using in the first place. We need to heal mind, body, and soul and aftercare will help with a big part of that!! You're on the right track though, cutting all your recourses is awesome!! No going back! :)

Congratulations...you're still very early in the game, but you got this.  It will get better every week.

I agree with you about withdrawals...and I'm so glad I never have to go thru them again.

Hugs,
-Robin

I agree with all the reply's above!!!
It does take some work and to most hard work to keep on the straight and narrow path. Make sure you do get all the Support you can.

Congrats on getting clean!!  Now add in some form of aftercare.  You will learn the tools you need to stay clean.  This is a "we" thing, not an "i".  Keep moving forward!

Congrats on your clean time!!!  And so happy that you are feeling better and a bit more clear headed!!!!  Gnarly is right about the aftercare!  You for sure should find a meeting around you and GO!!!  It will help you stay clean and give you the courage to go another day without the pills!!!  You will have a support system so when you do feel like taking just "one" more they will help you through it!!!  I know cause yesterday I had to use my support system to get through just that!!!  It works!!!  Keep on posting and  let us know how you are getting on!!!

Hi  well congrats on getting clean  if you really want to end this once and for all your going to have to do someting different....nothing changers if nothing changes....aftercare is not optional it is a critical part of recovery I have tryed most kinds but N/A is the only progam that treats the addict that is alive and well in both our heads you can find recovery and you never have to use again  this progam is the only thing that has helped remove the very desire to use from my head  strong will is not enough time to get out of your comfort zone and get to a meeting  google N/A meeting in your aera.........Gnarly
