opiate withdrawal

I will be 60 days clean from lortab, percocet, morphine, and oxycontin which i was taking all on a daily basis for 2 years.. I still am unable to sleep at night and i would love to hear any comments on ways to help regain sleep at night or just be able to fall asleep before 5 in the morning. It drives me insane because i have 3 children which i am finally able to be very active with everyday and i do not take naps and i still cannot sleep. any words of wisdom or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried melatonin?  It has worked great for me at a dose of 6mg/night.  If that doesn't do the trick, try some chamomile tea.  Both are all natural and support good, restful REM sleep.  Best of luck!

60 days is such an accomplishment! Way to go! As far as sleep I can tell you what helped reset my brain. Getting outside in the early morning sun even for a half hour. Avoid the early evening sun. Stick to a routine each night until you are sleeping normally. Don't watch TV in bed and if you an't fall asleep after 30 min. of getting in bed , get up and do something else (read, fold laundry, unload dishwasher etc). Don't make your bed a battle ground. No naps which you are already doing. Warm baths before bed and avoid caffeine after 3pm daily. Hope these tips help. Wishing you the deep sleep very soon. xx
