I have used pot 40 years. Recently (last couple of years) I cut back significantly. For 10 years have been on pain meds from 3 car accidents which resulted in 5 surgical repairs including cervical fusion. I am on total disability.   Recently failed drug screen for pot.  Dr. summarily dropped me, claiming he could loose his practice.  He offered no advice or direction on how to stop or clean my system of thc metabolites.  He offered no program to detox from opiates either.  Bottom line I passed an off the shelf urine screening panel but the lab probably used gas chromatigraph for metabolites.  It was devastating.  Ive stopped totally but cant count on urine screening panels to test myself before trying to get another pain managment doctor.  Is there anyway to know when I will not test positive for THC metabs?  Anything I can do to help the body cleanse other than lots of water?  Feel helpless.....cant find anything on the subject....I suppose I could buy my own GC test??

Sorry, to hear about your situation, do you have a PCP that will help you out for a while. Your on medicare right? If he turns you down call your partd carrier and ask them for an emergency supply. You are entitled to ask for one emergency encounter per year, Who is your part d carrier. If all else fails go to another pain management dr they usually dont test on the first visit, If they ask about your other pain dr tell them you had to fire him for false allegations. If worse comes to worse you will have to to the methadone clinic, as long as you test positive for opiates your ok, they will cut you a break on the THC but you may not even test positive as they use the old sticks, They cant afford to send it out to check levels. (gas) as they cost about $325.00 I get the EOB from medicare telling me the charge there is no copay on lab work. Crash I bet you can dose for free as you probably are now under catastrophic partd coverage, I pay $0.00 for all my meds because the suboxone put me over. I would not suggest sub for you is not strong enough on moderate pain although I dose q 8hr w/Lyrica and it works-----Hope this gives you some peace of mind------------------------------NOAH

ARE YOU PEOPLE CRAZY!  Giving this guy ideas on how to continue smoking weed and beat a drug test.  Is this not the place to come and get clean?  Or is it the forum now on "How to beat the system."

My husband said he got something from GNC he thinks it's called "the stuff" or "the liquid stuff" It will be behind the counter. Tell them you need a "system cleaner".

He is a lifer of a pot smoker. I dont think anyone should be able to tell you what you can and cant put into your own body. Anyways he's passed all drug screens in the past using this stuff..

If you've been a daily smoker for many years it can take up to two months for it to leave your system.  I know someone who tested at a walk in clinic for 3 months just to be sure he was clean on a professional test before taking a work test.  The home tests don't use mass spectrometry so you risk a false negative.  Sorry to hear that the doctor wasn't willing to try to help you. It also depends on your body frame and your body to fat ratio.  If your a big person then you have a lot more to worry about than a 130 pound athlete....

Since pot is stored in the fat of the body really the only way to get rid of it somewhat quickly is vigorous excercise.  It is NOT water soluable so lots and lots of water will NOT work.  Believe me... I have been down this road before and know how it works.  If you're not clean then you'd better have another sample that you can present (not yours).  You'll need 3-4 weeks of excercise before you can feel comfortable about peeing clean.  

Excessive water will dilute a test and in some cases a diluted test counts as a positive.  Be careful and be confident that you are clean before your next test or you will have the same result as the first.

are you asking how to get around the system so you can continue to smoke pot and find another pain med doctor?  Is it that important to you to stay on the pot?  Does it help with the pain more than the opiates?
