Every morning, i take 1 5HTP, 1 L-Tyrosine and 1 Vit B-6...repeat in the afternoon...

Seems to help me... =)

Congrats on quitting...keep your chin up, your guard up and you'll get through this.

Those proffesionals in rehab, were already working in the field when they became addicted or got through the system. If a medical or law worker on there own admits they have a problem..usually the department will stand by them..one time. But they will not hire someone with a history outta fear they will relapse. Especially Police. Nurses are around drugs and the hospital are afraid that the nurse will take the pills ment for a patient and therefore cause a risk to patient and a lawsuit for the hospital.

Ga Guy hit this one, dude - - -  A dead Nurse never helped anyone.  And dont say never about sub or methadone ...... I am not an advocate - but those are both tools that can be used to help you .... provided they are used correctly...  and to use them correctly, its my opinion that you should have multiple failed attempts in different fashions before you go to sub or meth.....

Nut is right about your career choice and your history - -  need to think of all the parameters involved...... and he is right that you can get through this with God and guts .... but you might as well do it as comfortably as you can - -  I like your new screen handle.......you can do this .....

There is an actual "professional's" group at the rehab I went to (and continue to go to group at once a week). There's nurses, EMT's, Doctor's and all kinds of healthcare workers. I don't know what they ask you to be a nurse, but I know many nurses that are recovering addicts and alcoholics. Please, don't let that discourage you from getting the help you need. Your life is worth more than that. Plus, a dead nurse never helped anyone....

If you go into rehab, it may kill your dreams of becoming a nurse. They do a background check and they ask have you ever been to rehab. You can get pass this 3rd day. Theeagle is right your looking to find a easy cure..there is none..just your heart and guts.

There is nothing wrong with knowledge and being prepared for circumstances....... Ga Guy is dead on about the time element....... Everything keeps getting better and better with time..... but you have to get to the clean time ....  Use your resources  - - One of which is this Forum - - to get to that time...... There are several Nurses on this Forum already - I would think that they would chat with you - Communication and socialization are two skills that decline as we use ..... keep those developed!   And feel free to vent or whine .... it comes with the withdrawal and with the pill problem  ..... and it helps with depression and a bunch of other stuff..... And like Ga Guy mentioned - check out a meeting or so - they are even offerred online, although the people skills are developed much better in person - - and the support is more real time .   Good luck and stick around for awhile - - -   Heres some stuff from 6 -----  Yesterday was the only easy day. You may complain tomorrow. Today you live.... and live well.   ****  Drive on.... ****

I KNOW I CAN.  i quit crystal meth 5 years ago on my own cold turkey after a long use and even shoting up, i know i can do this, i feel my eyes have been opened tonight, i dont just want to try and quit , i want to quit, and i am goin to. If i slipp again, rehab it is, but i feel i can truely do this. I feel that yesterdat August 1, 2009 was my quit day. next year one year from yesterday i will have one tear clean.

I've been following your struggles on here. I admit, I was once like you. I looked for every little edge I could to just get me through withdrawals and back to what I hoped was "normal" thinking. I kept telling myself that I could do this. I could beat this. I never though for a minute that "I need help". The control freak in me wouldn't admit defeat. Finally, with my tail tucked between my legs, I went to an outpatient rehab. I truly think it saved my life. I can tell you this...the energy gets better, the mood gets better, and the cravings do diminish. The magic bullet isn't in a pill, it's time. You HAVE to get some clean time under your belt. To do that you need a support system around you to give you an excuse NOT to use, because the addiction will always find a reason for you to get high. Is there any way you can get into a rehab? Inpatient preferably or outpatient? If not, how about NA or AA meetings? You're 24...you're too young to let this ruin your life.

I gotta admitt,  the Monster (green) energy drinks are my favorite drink next to coffee.  I know .....  12 tsp. sugar........  hey I could eat a candy bar and get the sugar,  lol   I do love the drink tho,   it's my little addiction,  but I can live without it too.  Read the ingredients,  I don't care it just gives me a little energy but that's great !!!

It helped me more than anything else that I tried for energy  ........  usually take from 500 to 2000mgs before breakfast on an empty stomach.....  May want to look at the entire Amino Acid Protocols in the Health Discussions area...... Most of the energy drinks are just different amino acids - sometimes with caffeine......   They treated me nicely.....
