I used to pride myself in my knowledge of pills and their contents and markings lol. A percocet or endocet is Oxycodone IR (instant release) or SR (sustained release). Lortab or more commonly referred to as Vicodin or Norco is Hydrocodone. They both contain aceitomeniphen which is tylenol. Some most lortabs have 500 mg's or 325 mg's or aceitomeniphen where as most percocets have 325 but some have 600 and 650 mg's whatever is after the slash as in 10/325 pertains to the mg of aceitomeniphen and the number before the slash is the mg of hydrocodone or oxycodone.
i get a generic prescription 4 norco it;s called tabqua.made bye qualitest
when i first got it i thought it was from china but did my research it's ok
Ah... gotcha. Good to know. I didn't know that about Norco's. Thanks for sharing.
Hey there lonely
The amt of tylenol varies, but yes, Percocets tend to contain less tylenol.... (5mg oxy/325mg tylenol)
Oxycontin is basically just percocet with a long-acting agent in it.
Also, hydrocodone comes in a higher dose, and lower tylenol dose..."Norco"...which contains 10mg hydro and only 325 of tylenol....which is a usual DOC for people taking huge amounts...it is much less toxic on the liver.
It can be very confusing.
The word "Lortab, Vicodin" are just trademarked names for the generics (hydrocodone and oxycodone)...also, those opiates can be combined with other analgesics instead of tylenol....example, "Percodan" is oxycodone with aspirin.
Sorry...hope I didn't confuse you...but while the drugs are very similar, and both strong opiates, there are a lot of differences, which people do not always realize.
Guess I'm wrong according to nursegirl. However, my understanding is that the Perc's have far less acetametaphin than the Lortabs.
My understanding is that they are both opiates, however, the Loratab (Vicodin/Hydrocodone) has NSAID (tylenoyl) included. That's why you may see a 5/325 or 10/500 on Loratab. It's 5mg of Loratab with 325mg of Tylenol.
Wooops....take one of the D's out of the HYDROCODONE above.
Dumb fat fingers. ;0)
HI there. A LORTAB is basically Vicodin (hyddrocodone), whereas a PERCOCET is a more natural opiate, also called oxycodone. Because oxy is less synthetic, it tends to be a bit stronger. Both meds contain the opiate (either hydro or oxy) and acetaminophen (tylenol).
Both are habit forming when used improperly, or for long periods of time.
Hope that helps.
