Tryin to kick Methadone at 20m
All the advice has been very helpful so I thank you all.I'm such a baby when it comes to pain. This is livin hell.Heroin is so called the devil....I believe.the is the devil and herion is hie little brother. Methadone has been really good for me. I have been on that song often on more on for 23 years. I quit using heroin back in the day 23 years ago. I just ate a methadone they tell you ,you need to go up if you're sweaty you're probably not takin enough of it now I know that was a lie my body was trying to tell me to cut back I was on too much. When I went to work I would sweat all the time. I would always have to make excuses.. I am a blackjack dealer in a casino. You have to look presentable all the time. I'm not working right now thank God while getting off this or I would have lost my job. 23 years ago they didn't know anything about math on to help you out they just kept you on it. I paid cash the majority of the time. I could have bought a house with money.
But you play you pay. My husband OD'd on heroin 27 years ago in his sleep. That just made me go out more I felt guilty that I didn't save him that time. Though seven times before that I did. The 7th time I ask him have you ever had to bring somebody back to you loved. She said no. So when he died in his sleep I felt guilty because I told him I couldn't do it again. Now I know God took the burden of me because he couldn't be saved. As all of us have lost a lot of people to drugs. I just thank God I'm still here. I am so tired of being handcuffed to methadone. That's why I was so determined to get off this time. I have grandkids for god sake who don't deserve this from me. This hurts like hell but I'm on day 10 and I hear it gets better from here praying it does. Dazie girl

Like everyone else has posted, here, congratulations! Methadone withdrawal is miserable. I got through it a couple years ago, thanks to my friends on MedHelp. You're going to make it.
Hey Girl..What great Strength..You have come sooo far...15 days..Wow!!!!! I can remember the first day we all replied to this post..I have to triple Ditto on what EvolverU says up above here...The benzo are bad too...You will have to slowly do a taper off of them if you build them up..Believe me it was not fun going c/t on that one with the dones..But one Step at a time..I am very proud of you...Yaaaa!!!!!!

Just a heads up: While I completely understand the need for benzos/sleep meds during acute w/d's and early PAWS coming off long term Methadone, I'd like to warn you that if you continue w/ them (particularly Xanax), you might have extended sleep issues down the line. This happened to me. I was never a benzo person but got them as 'comfort meds' after trying Clonodine, Trazadone & Doxapin early on. I used Klonopin and sometimes Xanax off and on for the first three months to help w/ sleeplessness. When I noticed that my tolerance was building, I dropped them like a hot potatoe. That's when the real sleepless hell w/ attendant anxiety and audial/visual hallucinations began. So, if you can benefit by my experience, it will make my months of sleeplessness more worthwhile. All the best to you and keep up the great work!

Hey guys Daisy girl back today is day 15 I'm feeling I have a lot better still mood swings stomach still hurts but the damn muscle aches are gone thank God no I'm not doing anything wrong at all through this I had a doctor asked me if I needed some to withdrawal I told him to f*** off. All I want to do is now is get my life back. I No my daughter does not understand she tries hi hurt her feelings and don't mean to the make me fill bad we have a rocky relationship anyway but she still is there for me and I love her very much for that my fight has only begin.. I am so glad I'm done with devil knock on wood I do have some xannies that I am breaking in .25 so I don't tell everyone off. Surprise hot flashes gone . I know ihave a life long fight I'm ready still pray for me thank you all you helped me so much I will be back yeah I thought I was going to die.
You can do it! I watched my brother kick it. He has been completely off for about two years now. He is a completely different person. I watched him go from his lowest point of self worth, to now being an amazing father, excellent public speaker, the list goes on. He is no longer a slave to addiction. He was able to wean. I have heard that is the best way to get off of methadone. I have watched my mom go in and out of methadone withdrawals every month for about 10 years now. I wish she had the desire to quit. She is so beautiful but I feel like the methadone makes her look pale and her teeth look yellow. She chooses to hoard the pills and then go for about a week without, and she can't do anything, can't go to work. I can't believe she hasn't been fired. I didn't understand withdrawal and what she was going through until I started using too much oxy codons myself. Now I get it. That is why your daughter doesn't understand. I hope she never does. Just keep going like my brother, you can do it!!
HI kicking methadone is tuff but doable i wwas on it for many yaers
10 is a bit high to jump from i always recamed going slowly and get in to the single digets it will help alot taking 10 mg if methadone is a lot more powerful then you think keep posting for support......Gnarly

Are you still on the dones now..Or are you off? If you are on them tell me what mgs you are at..If you are off.How many days off..I need some more info OK...

Thanks it helps when you don't feel alone. I have my daughter here but she doesn't understand she tried so and I appreciate that. I would appreciate any help what how to the so-called normal again I'm so tired of being sick I want to go do things in live again. Where I live we have the Harley run. That's something I really enjoyed I hope you are well bye then to enjoy that. Just all the small things let people take for granted because we're too busy getting hard those years now dealing with my other one no better I just want to see the rainbow at the end. OH so said about your lose..Hey there Girl that is a long time on the beast..But I am glad you are off the H..I do know what you are talking about being at work and sweating..I just kept saying it was hot flashes..Right!!!
I was on the dones for 12 yrs or so..I just went from the other opiates up to the dones..A Dr that put me one them was moving..The last thing he said was"I wish I would of never put you on these" Right! What do you know that I do not..I got way up in the mgs..Then I ask for a taper..We went down 60mg and then just cut again at 30mg..I was OK with that for awhile..Then we cut to 15mgs..That is were I started to get out of control Agian! I started to go on the Hunt..I was buying Adderlla from the streets..Snorting it with the dones and taking a benzo at night..OH boy c/t at 30 mgs and the other 2 meds..Not good!! I wish I could of done a taper..I tried?? So be that said..Did you taper down slowly over these years??? That is alot of methadone build up in those years..You just hang tight..You can do it..There are a few of us that had a little bit longer ride then some others. IF You are still feeling kinda Funkie, We can help you in what to get to help out this detox process..So if you come back..I will be back..

Welcome & a Massive Congrats on your HUGE 10 days! I promise you it gets better bit by bit. It's a trial by fire with great rewards. (I'm 3.5mos clean off 20yrs of M/almost 30 off H. ) So sorry to hear about your husband. I too, have buried people close to me. It sounds like he had a low opiate threshold. That's always scary - bringing people back - over and over. You CAN do this.You're already well on your way. Try to just keep your eye on the prize and stay in the moment. Treat yourself well. You deserve it. Try to stay busy: listen to your favorite music, watch a funny movie, read, take hot baths w/ salt, get outside into the sun and try to walk a little. This is a good time for you, believe it or not. Spring - your rebirth! Please, keep us posted. This site will be your ally in all this & we're here for you. Rock on. You're doing Great!
Wow. You do have one heck of a story. 10 days clean is awesome!!! I'm 1 mo clean from the beast today. I have ups and downs w anxiety. But don't want to be in bondange to the junk anymore!! You can do this. Congrats on getting your life back!! I will be praying for you!!!

Wow, you have one he'll of a story! I can see that you are determined and that's good! I have no experience with methadone. I am 6 days clean off norcos. We have quite a few people here who are clean from methadone and some that are still tapering. Hang tight hun. They will be on soon to help you!
