To stop the addiction to pain killers, you have to ask, "Whos stronger, the pill, or you"? You are a slave to whatever controls you. Our bodies are Gods, not ours, and when you pollute it with Hydrocodone, Nictione, or booze, you are changing the natural order of things. Stop messing with the central nervous system,,it doesnt belong to you!
I know the hurt it is coming off of synthetic opium, which is what Hydrocodone is. You feel weird, and you wonder if you can do all the same things you did before while you were high on them. What kind of will do you have? How bad do you want your normal life back? I just did it, it can be done. Quit them and gain your momentem, and you are back on the road to being yourself again.

It gets better!

I did it when my Mom was telling me about when she talked to her brother who is a doctor, and how he told her what a prison painkillers could be. It hit me like a ton of bricks that I was being controlled by a little blue pill,,it was the boss, not me,,
I MADE A DECISION right then and there! A DECISION!  That is how you quit! I fought through the withdrawal symptoms and came out on the other side.
I feel like a new man, but I know that I was hooked, and will never forget that,,kinda like what they teach in AA meetings.
I am gaining momentum everyday, and I am so grateful.

If you need extra help, ask Jesus and the Holy Spirit to intervene in your attempt, and you will be delivered from this wicked spell that the pills put you under.

The sad part is that in almost all true addicts, it is the pill that is stronger. That is why its soo hard to quit. Those who do successfully quit usually have a lot of outside help, especially those with long term sobriety (1 year+)

Surrender usually sounds weak, but in this case, surrendering ourselves to aftercare strengthens everything we are. Are you clean? Like vicki said, sharing some of your story would help too.

did this and what it was like?   And, also, what kind of recovery care you're getting?
