For those who are hopeless of getting any sleep again...

I am at day 7 today and I do not remember waking up between midnight and 5 this morning so there definately is hope for sleep!  Can't say it will happen again tonight.  We'll see.
So hang in there!

When I slept on pills I would often wake up sitting up and wonder how that had happened? I did not sleep well at all I sleep better without the stuff!

You didn't mention this, but with all that sleep on the pills did you still feel tired?  Because even though I thought I slept a lot on the pills too I only found out after I quit that it was never a "real" sleep.  The restful, REM, rejuvenating kind of sleep I get without the pills - the kind of sleep I got BEFORE I started the pills.  I think I read somewhere that it's a false sleep - not at all nurturing or replenishing to the body.

Just my thought...

Glad you finally got some sleep that is always great, that first real sleep.Mine did not come until about day 15 or so.
About sleeping better on pills, they tend to make you nod in the late evening. They always did that to me anyway.Going to sleep now is totally different.I now have to lie down and conciously try to sleep.Alot of times I pretty much go from being totally awake to being asleep and waking up after a few hours. When I took the pills all the time I would be watching tv and just not be able to keep my eyes open.I miss that but I don't miss it that much.lol

And I'm really curious... Maybe someone can answer this-  I have had sleep issues for well over 15 years but in the 1 yr that I was always loaded up on pills, I always slept good. Doesn't make alot of sense to me?
