sleeping with withdrawals and Clonidine

by larbec7, May 10, 2007 12:00AM
I thought i would post and let everyone know how my WD's are going after being on Hyrocodone 7 pd 10/325 for 6 years and going CT.  Yesterday was my first day and it was rough as far as feeling strange and wanting a Hydro.  I took 3 .1 clonidines about 30 minutes before bed time and one soma.  I went to bed at 8:00 and woke up at 11:00 p.m.  I took another soma and 1 more .1 clonidine and slep till 5:00 a.m. this morning.  I woke up on my own, alittle loopy from the clonidine but now I am drinking my coffee, waking up and feel okay right now.  I will ost again today and let you know how my day is goiing but so far the Clonidine is working.  I started to get restless less and being miserable until I took them.

WOW.CT?   Good luck, show us how its done. Get ready for a ride because the worse is about to come. Clonidine is great for detox and anxiety, but make sure you don't eat too much at one time because of your anxiety. It would be too easy to have your blood pressure drop too much and next thing you know your in a coma or stop breathing. Good luck.  If you get too restless and the clonidine isn't enough, you might want to ask for some ativan to take with it rather than takeing more clonidine. Please keep us posted.

okay, I made it through day two and so far it is pretty much a piece of cake, my blood pressure is 118/68 most of today.  I have been restless a little, went to lay down for about 10 minutes and it felt good but got back up.  I am not really hungry at all, ate a small amount for lunch and just a kids meal at MCDonalds.

I know I can do this, I want to go to bed so bad but need to stay up to at least 9:00 if I can then I hope I sleep all night.  I am also taking amodium D which has help, so far no runs but I can still use the bathroom.  I will keep you posted, I am not sure if this will get worse or not but the Clonidine is REALLY helping.  I think the doctors do not want you to know about this so you suffer....

God bless

Here I am on day four, did not sleep well last night, only about 2 hours, wife having bad dreams BUT, I was able to lay there with little tossing and turning.  NO restless legs.  I think the Clonidine helped.  No muscle aches or flu like symptoms through this whole process.  Do not even want any hydros.  YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

Because from not just my own experience, but from talking to and seeing 1000's from detox centers,  the 48-72 hour marks were the worst. If you have beaten that...you are lucky.  It sounds like you have. Clonidine is awesome, but I allways needed other things as well.  That is great your detox is going so good.
