starting again

Here I am again. I have posted before, successfully came off of vicodin 5/500 1/2 to 1 a day (i know nothing) started having severe neck and back pain again from a neurological disorder (syringomyelia) and am now taking 1-2 a day for the past few months.
I am getting nasty rebound headaches and would like to stop the vicodin and try something else. I am going to try and taper, I am in so much pain as it is, I just dont think I can handle more.
I am wondering how to taper off 1-2 pills a day. Some days I take 1-1.5 other days like for the past week I take 2.
How do I decrease?
I have started the amino acids, and I have 2 valium and a 1/2 a zanax.

hi there...yes as snowflake posted...i would just go ct.  i did it taking way more than yourself...it shouldnt be that bad...in fact my husband only took 2 perks a day for a year and he quit and had zero wd/ing...how great is that!  i m sure you ll be fine...maybe a couple days of aches. chills, restlessness but it will go away in 3/5 days.  good luck to ya and keep posting...maria

HI.  1-2 per day is not that much. I think if you just maybe spent a couple of days on half a day and then quit - you wouldnt feel so bad.  If you started the aminos and have a 2 valiums to help, I think even stopping at this point, you will be ok.  You may not even need the valium.  If you definitely want to decrease, go down to one a day for a few days, then half a day for a few, then off.  I truly think you wont suffer much.  If you do have withdrawal, it should not be too bad and you will be feeling a lot better in a few days. You can do this.  Your in a good spot right now.  Many people go cold turkey off a 15-30 pill per day habit so you should be very proud of yourself for being able to maintain 1 or 2 a day.  Good luck and take care.  Let us know how you do.

as small as your dose is maybe you could just c/t and be done it will be unplesant but not as bad as some,please try to stay away from the benzos as they are a hell all of their own follow the protocol and the thomas recipie and keep posting we are here for you good luck
