Detoxing meth

Methadone is a new drug  now in my system . I thought I was ridding my body of one drug and fell into the meth trap. I am on 60mg. I hope to go down 5mg every week till I'm low enough to get off .
How can I do this? Quicker ways?
What foods are good for me for me to eat during this time?
I'm in a NYC based Program.

yes let the clinic tell you how to taper.  I will tell you slower is better.  I tried to do it fast and do it my way and that did not work at all.  There is another member here name gnarly.  He is successfull at tapering off the methadone.  He was at 150mgs a day and his taper took him 8 months or so.  He has a lot of clean time now.  He is a wealth of knowledge and a great guy to have supporting you.  I am sure he will see your post and answer you soon.  It can be done and you can do it.  It just takes time, you did not get in this mess overnight and you can not get out of it overnight.  Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am here for you anytime.

If you are in a program, I would say let them taper you.  That would be the safest, easiest way, in my opinion.

Foods that are good during detox would probably be high protein and high potassium or really anything healthy that you like.  I drank lots of water and gatorade and soup and crackers.  But that was during cold turkey withdrawal.  Tapering is another subject.  It may not cause you much discomfort if you do it correctly.

Will the program help you taper down?
