Hey everyone, I quit ultram 19 days ago, and I wanted to say what worked for me and what didn't during my withdrawal. I was on 100mg of ultram a day for six months and quit cold turkey. The withdrawal was horrible, especially the leg cramps and insomnia. I am still having these symptoms but to a much lesser degree. So on to what help me...
Non-med help: Stretching, walking, and hot showers provided real relief but the relief was short lived about twenty minutes before another cramp. Also you must eat well during withdrawal fruits veggies and protein, especially orange juice and bananas.
Over the Counter Help: DXM, the active ingredient in strong cough syrups at three times the does. This helps but not alot.
Prescription Help: EVAVIL, was my magic bullet it help relieve the cramping by seventy percent and help with the insomnia. If you can get a script do it.
What didn't work: All over the counter pain relievers even if taking prescription strength dosage did nothing. Hylands leg cramp and RLS did nothing. Asked the doc about hylands, he said that the quinine would need to be injected not ingested to help. Benadryl and unisom will only make the cramps worse. Also supplements are a waste, you need to eat your vitamins and minerals not take them in pill form. Your body will not digest them well especially during withdrawal.
I sincerely hope this will help someone. Withdrawal is horrible and even at day 19 I'm still having milder symptoms so its a long road. If anyone has any questions just let me know I check the site every night.
