Exersize, walk, ride the bike, swim anything that will put endorphines (sp??) in your brain. I did it cold turkey and the first 5 days where the worst...I couldn't eat, didn't want to eat and still have problems eating but I think it's just me....For me, I just had to make up my mind that I wanted my normal life back without being dependant on a drug...don't get me wrong, my back hurts ALOT and screams for relief but with back injuries exersize is the best thing so I replace it with the drugs...You have to decide for yourself and do it for yourself and I totaly understand not telling your family...I think we beat ourselves up more and we don't need others doing it...good luck, God Bless and you CAN do it...read PAWS it explains a lot at first I was scarred reading it but it's very informative and helps you understand what your body is going through...keep on keeping on :)
I am not totally sure of your situation but if you check out the health pages on the right side of the screen you will see the Thomas Recipe. It will help. Take immodium. Take Advil. Hot hot baths or showers were basically the only thing to momentarily help me through it. The next few days are going to be really hard for you but if you are truly done and tired of letting the drugs own you, then you need to know you will get through it. Strength and time. Unfortunately there is nothing I know of to speed it up, but there are small things you can do to be a tiny bit more comfortable (hot showers, thomas recipe). I wish you the best and nothing but success for you. This forum helped me incredibly through it -- its good to have people to talk to who know what your going through. Stay on here and keep posting... take care.
