I'm addicted to opana. The W/D's are hell & I started a taper a few days ago. So far it appears to be working but it'll be a long time before I'm completely free & it still *****.
I'm wondering if it'd be worth going on suboxone or anything else to curb the w/d's.(?) It seems like it'll be rough coming off of anything. So, might it just as well be the opana that I taper from?
So you are still taking a total of 1mg a day, you need to get down to lower then that. Take half that, once a day so that is .5 mgs. Do that for 4 days, then go to every other day, if you can get down to less, do that, then stop...the w.d will be there, but not as bad.
I am taking a half of a two mg each day but I cut it in half so its a quarter in the morning and at night. I started taking seroqual at night and that helps a little.
I hear ya, This is the deal: the half life of the suboxone has to do with (A) how long you have been taking the suboxone for and (B) what have you tapered down to. It is not going to be 1/2 mg then CT and no withdrawals. Its going to be 1mg to 1/2mg to 1/4 mg to crumb the try to go CT and fight through the WD. YOU WILL HAVE WD NO MATTER WHAT. Its a matter of how long and follow up with aftercare. What I did was went from 16 to 8 and then quit CT, bad idea ended up with mad WD for 11 days and strong. I gave in and trying to taper to a crumb then CT. It will probably be a week of slight WD then the head games start and that's when the head games start. GOOD LUCK, FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT, and soon we will get there. If ya need anything drop me a message.
I have not yet but when you go CT i think you have to follow up with NA or aftercare for support to make it to the next level.
Are you saying you've been having withdrawal symptoms for 2 months now since you dropped to 1 mg (1/2 of a 2 mg pill) of Sub? That is a long time to still be feeling the effects of a drop in your dose. Were you on a full 2 mgs prior to dropping down to 1 mg? Or were you on more than that? If you were on MORE than 2 mgs and dropped to 1 mg, that may have been to much of a drop, but I would think you would have adjusted by now. Sub is such an odd drug, I really don't know what to tell you. I've been on Sub now for about the same time as you.
Your blood cells have "memory" and every time you take that little dose, the "memory" kicks in and causes a host of chain reactions in your body. Just flush those pills down the can and see what can happen after your cells adjust. (withdrawal) I am on day 6 of getting clean and it *****, but I feel hopeful. I had 6 years clean and sober until I hurt my neck a year and a half ago. I would give anything to have never had that injury. Now, I will do whatever it takes not to be addicted anymore. Go to an NA meeting, they help.
