Sorry if I sound like I'm preaching... but your #1 goal at this moment in time should be to seek help. The odds of kicking a dope habit yourself are slim to none. I understand you're a single mom and without health insurance, but that's no excuse for not seeking help. There are a lot of things out there that will make the detox process easier. Short term Suboxone therapy is extremely beneficial... as long as you use it to taper. If you're one of those people who are chronic relapsers (like myself) then maintenance would be a better option. Some look at it as substituting one thing for another, but in reality.. it's not, you're treating your disease.
Sure, it's expensive to get started, but nowhere near as much as a dope habit. What I spend on Suboxone for a month I'd spend to feed my habit for a day.  They say in order to succeed, you need to put just as much (if not more) energy into getting clean as you did to feed your habit. Since you're a single mom, I'm sure you'd even qualify for medicaid, which will pay for your prescription at least.

Good luck.

i am sticking with it knowing today will be slightly better..i hope. I know morphine is dangerous to most ppl, but i have been taking these pill for over 10yrs. and trying to get off dope the pills barley take the edge off..i have realistic goals. But as a single mom working a full time job w/o medical coverage. My options are limited. And i have never had a good experience at NA around my neighborhoods..I am NOT complaining just stating the facts of my situation...i am reading the big book daily. And when i get paid im shopping for proper vitamins, over counter sleep aids and a product called withdrawl ease...for the past 2 days i have not shot up any heroin, and i have the pills to thank for that. I dont plan on being on the meds for too much longer. But its very hard to detox when i cannot put my life on hold. The important thing is that i havea plan with realistic goals. thank you every1 who took time to give support. And I hope you are all doing well for yourselvs

I hope you stick with it...gnarly is right about the morphine...just drawing it out...I know how bad this ***** for you...even if u feel like **** there is hope just sitting in a room of addicts like NA. Best thing is a little hope, and you will get it there. Please let me say, tho, and no offense gag595, but in my experience as a methadone addict of 12 years after using it 'to get off other stuff...it is hands down the most difficult detox, and is loooong, the really rough stuff took me 6 weeks coming off methadone. BUT YOU CAN DO THIS THING. I felt like I would lose my mind in my many detoxes but i didnt...4-7 days and you should be feeling better once you stop all the opiates. Hard, but it's in you!

Morphine is a powerful drug.  It will cause you more harm than good with your addiction.  My opinion you need to see your Doc. tell him or her whats going on and if you need help which you probably do he or she may give you methadone for a while that will ease the withdrawals from heroin and morphine.  Get in on a NA meeting this will help you just being there. Keep posting.   You can do it.

HI its best if you just kick .....by using morphine pills to ez your pain your only prolonging the process your brain will not begin to heal till you quite putting narcotics in it.....as long as it has an artificial supply of endorphins the naturaral ones wont start to reproduce leavening you in a constant state
of use or withdrawal you must quit addidind narcotics and just tuff it out I wish there was a softer ezer way but theirs not no narcotics will heal you taking them will keep you in the trap your in good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
