I have been on oxycontin for many years. I have tried that method, using percocet to get off oxys but it did not work. I do not recommend this method. You need to talk to your doctor about how you can taper off from oxycontin from 80mg to 40mg and 30mg. but this will take long time. and its very difficult to stay on tapering. You can try subutex. This method will work if you have the money and the will to stay away from oxycontin. whatever you do, do not get off oxy immediately. you will end up getting sick. since i have no information about you like your age and life style, every person can be different. but if you ve been on oxys for long period of time, it will be really hard. please do not take this as a negative comment. i am giving you my experience. i'm 47. one thing noticed was when i was younger, it was easy to get off vicodin. but as i got older, it was getting harder.
I hope my opinion helped. I wish you well. as they say, if you put your mind to it, you'll make it. email me if you ever need support since i am in the same boat as you......***@****
