As I replied in another post...  the 8125mg - 9750mg of acetaminophen that you ingest every day will sooner or later stop you and at that point you will no longer have a choice.  4000mg is max!  Anything above that especially the levels that you are at are EXTREMELY toxic to the liver and eventually WILL cause devestating problems.  Please be very cautious!  Pretty, pretty please!

Not trying to sound mean or anything but these levels are very, very serious.

Please listen to trout!  I have destroyed my liver by taking 10-12 10mg NORCOS at a time 4x a day.  I am living proof that it will destroy your liver and could end your life much earlier than needed.  The tylenol is extremely dangerous for you.....please be careful!

jessica...  If you don't mind me asking what were your first symptoms that your liver was being affected?  I'm so sorry for your condition.  People don't realize that when they pop these pills at such doses that they aren't just getting high from them.  They literally are killing themselves without even knowing it.  If I'm prying just let me know and I'll stop asking ok.  Also, how long were you taking the 10-12 Norcos?  Sorry if I'm being forward.

hey there~
I just found out at the methadone clinic that I liver damage.....my levels (ast? & something else...cant remember....I do have the test results though..I could find out for sure)  were extremely high.  I have never used needles so it is not hep-c.....its definitely from taking the EXTREME amounts of tylenol I used to take.  I used to take about 10-12 10mg NORCOS 4X a day for about 4 or 5 years.  And before that it was the 5mg vics.  I also used to take a lot of tylenol before the pain pills.  I dont know if I ever felt any symptoms from the liver damage because I suffer from poor health as it is.  I am always having something wrong with me at some time or other.......LOL  But I know that I need to see a DR and find out what the next step is, but I have been extremely scared to do so.  I just found out about this a month or so ago.  Do you know if the methadone is also damaging to the liver....Gosh, I hope not!

OMG! I'm sooooo scared now! What are the signs that your liver is messed up?? I was taking Norco 10/325  anywhere between 30 and 60 tabs a day for over two years. There were a couple of occasions that I took 90 pills in a single day. I was sicker than a dog, and have no clue how my body didn't shut down. I also have kidney problems (only have one). How can I tell if there is something wrong? I do get these crazy cramps from time to time and there are a few other things that have happened that causes me to worry...

I am sorry that I can not tell you the symptoms as I am always sick and not feeling well as it is, but you can go and get a liver panel done at the Dr. to see where your levels stand.  I would definitely do that if you have been taking that much tylenol.  I also took about 90 pills in one day and though I was dying......I prayed to the porcelean goddess for about 6 hrs. or so.  Also be careful because my husband and child had to wake me up one night after taking about a months supply of oxys in one day, because I was gasping for air in my sleep.  My son is only 7 and was crying that I scared him so badly!!!  We were camping in our pop-up trailer at Mesa Verde when this happened so we were all together and everyone was freaking out.  Just please be careful with how much you are taking.  I know I came very close to overdosing a few times and I cant believe I almost left my 2 young children w/o a mother.  Now, I am just hoping and praying my liver damage isnt irreversible.  I knew it could happen but I never thought it would happen to me.

Thanks! I'm actually off of them now and have been for 23 days. I'm on the suboxone and I consider it a "miracle drug"! I recently bought a new car to take up the money I was spending on pills...LOL! Quite a small fortune! LOL! I also have kids, 4 to be exact. I am one of the lucky ones that my kids never found me in the same situation as you. But, if something had happened to me, no one would have known it anyway because my husband works nights and I sleep alone. I tried the oxy's only ONE time. I guess I didn't take enough or something because they didn't do anything for me. I'm sure it had something to do with the amount of Norcos I was taking. Reading posts about the oxy's I'm soooo glad I never went down that path. The path I was on was bad enough! LOL! I feel so lucky and have a wonderful support system! My boss, husband, parents, friends, everyone knows about it and have all been so great! In fact, my boss is the one who paid for my first Suboxone dr. visit, AND he drove me there. That right there is motivation enough....and the new car....LOL!! J/K!

The nice thing about the liver is that it CAN regenerate if no longer exposed to these toxins.  Will it completly regenerate?  I don't have that answer.  I spose it probably depends on the level of damage.  However, by taking care of ourselves and eliminating these toxins from our systems is really the ONLY way to give our livers a chance to recover.  Personally I haven't consumed a lot of tylenol but I did have a good bout with beer so I'm a little worried but not real bad.  I take milk thistle every day because it is supposed to promote healthy liver function.  It's cheap and not bad for me in any way so it certainly can't hurt.

I didn't mean to scare anyone with my post but the reality of this is so real but sometimes goes unseen until there is a semi-permanent or permanent problem.
