good morninr..i saw somewhere that you worked in the medical field for 25 yrs? maybe you can answer a question..i had surgery 2 weeks ago and lost alot of blood..i had to have 6 pints, and had a minor heart attack becaue the nurse waited 5 hours to call my doctor..They think there is no damage to my heart, i go tommorrow..My question is i did tell my doctor i was on hydrocodene before surgery..Does that make you hemmorage?? he said a blood vessels ruptured in my belly, and it was a slow leak..that is why i bleed all night without dying..it was a simple hysterectomy..

No, Anything that is Aspirin containing or Ibuprofen is contraindicated prior to and post op! If you were getting vicodin that has acetaminophen and is safe to take. The hydrocodone itself is not a blood thinner and does not affect platelets.  Hope this helps.

right - hydrocodone would have no effect on your problems.
