wondering if anyone has heard of northland treatment center in ohio. we are looking into it for my boyfriend.

I've been reading your posts over on the other forum as well. I KNOW its hard sweetie. I've been on both sides of the fence... The addicted and living with an addict. BOTH sides are miserable places to be. The GREAT thing is that he has decided to get help. I hope he's doing so for HIMSELF otherwise it won't work ya know... Please keep us updated and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I read their program outline. If he is serious, it sounds good. Meetings, counseling, education, it has all the things we recommend around here. If it's close to you, even better, he will make local friends in recovery. Have you called them yet, to check availability? You may want to do that, there is a waiting list sometimes. My doctor could only have 100 clients at a time, I got lucky, only had to wait a couple weeks.

I am good a little sad but good. I knew this might happen thanks to all of you wonderful people. so i was a little prepared. This is the first time he has agreed to go talk to someone and I can't find any na meetings in our area. so this treatment center sounded good its all outpatient but sounds pretty intense. I usually post in the living with an addict forum but thought I could use some advice on what works as far as treatment.

Hi Girl..I caught your post again in the "Living with a Addict" I am SO sorry HE had a relasp. Maybe he could go to a Addiction Dr..BUT they most likely will want him on Subs but then they will do a taper..It can be better then nothing. I am not a Sub person but I have seen some miracles on here from people that did do Subs after they could not stop the other opiates. My Prays are going out to You two..You have been struggling this with him for a long time..Has he or you tried any of the Meetings yet??
