trying subutext and suboxone....how long to wait is the million dollar question

I've been taking oxy 15 milligram and the win A half a gram of heroin everyday for the past 4 months. I previously had a prett
y bad heroin addiction but I got clean for 5 years and 4 months ago screwed up and started using again. Its been a long time since I've taken subutext or suboxone end everything I've read says to wait at least 24 hours but I can't remember how long I waited last time.. somebody please help? thank you in thank y

When I started suboxone I had to be clean for at least 48 hours before they would start dosing me.  Be very careful with this as if you don't do it right you will be very sick!

I know..your so right.. I was clean for almost 6 yrs...I can do it..it just sux...I know not to beat myself up over it. I thought I had this thing beat but once again it rears its ugly head. I'm pretty strong I have a really great support system and I love my job working with addicts and if anything that's what's going to keep me going through this because I refuse to be a disappointment to them

Addiction knows no boundaries. It doesn't care who you are or where you work.  Try not to dwell on the guilt.  Guilt will not help your situation. Keep a positive attitude.  You can do this.

No, no doctor...I know better but like I said earlier I can't cuz of where I work and the risk of being seen there...thanks for your comments...it's helping keeping my mind off getting some thing to feel better......staying strong

I'm right there with you. I'm in the struggle of do I get some and get better or try to tough it out tonight and take it in the morning. it's a battle in my head right now but I'm determined to make it. I have to I work with addicts and I feel terrible. Go to Work everyday like I'm a hypocrite. it ***** the guilt is eating me alive so I'm determined to get off of a them, so I'm going to hold strong and try to make it through the night and start my suboxone in the morning. Actually I have subutex and suboxone. unfortunately, I had to do it without a doctor's help because I'm afraid it'll get back to where I work so I'm going to try to do it with six pills.

Hi Becca, are you in a sub program under the guidance of a doctor?  Are you doing this on your own?  A doctor should be able to give you guidance.

I am suppose to start Suboxone  tomorrow  they told me on Monday that I needed to be 48hrs cleans but I'm not I couldn't get thur today and broke and got 1 30mg and took at 7pm. Now I go tomorrow morning to get the Suboxone and Ive read so many different things some people say 12hrs as long as you are in withdrawals. I so messed up I hope I still can get them tomorrow  cause they do drug tests but I was pretty sure it would be positive either way. Cause in can take up to 72 to be clean. Plus I'm having a hard time eating or drinking anything. I really messed up and now I'm scared bit I want thing so bad.

So I did my last shot at 8am this morning. I have to be at work at 7am..I should be ok to take when I get up? Thank you so much...I have gained so knowledge and support just from reading other post on here
