Day 2

I am on day 2 of hydrocodone withdrawal.  I have been an addict for over 2 years.  I had pain but didn't the amount of the meds I was taking to deal with it.  I started out 2-3 a day and then lateley up to 20.  I had  surgery 2 weeks ago to correct my problem so the pain should stop.  The Dr. wanted to taper me off the meds and I was all for it because I could continue to use.  Then my wife told me that I need to just quit.  So yesterday I gave the rest up.  and started withdrawal cold tuurkey  sort of I had an issue I had to handle so I took 2 yesterday.  I felt bad about it so I threw them up 15 minutes after taking.  I dont want them in me.  Luckily I have access to clonidine and hydroxizine.  They both seem to help I am still really lethargic.  It doesn't help that I am on crutches and can't exercise.  What happens next?  i need to get back to work.  I have missed a total of 5.5 days so far due to the arthroscopic suregery but I am not sure how much longer I canstring it on..  I just dont want to use anymore.  I want to be a better Father and husband.  Any advise what I can expect down time? Should i go got to work tmorrow?

I was taking up to 20 10/500's.
The night before I quit I took about 25 or 26.  I want to be sober but the withdrawals are killing me.

Welcome! You are making a wise decision, how many hydros were you taking a day? Normally you should feel better in 4 to 5 days, you may want to try and relax tomorrow if you can.  It is tough for you because you are on crutches and cant exercise, but you can do this. You have to try and just stay focused on something else, if you can soak in the tub, have your wife help you cover your cast and run you a hot bath that will help, pray, watch movies, take as long of a walk on your crutches as you can but you will be better in a few day.

I stoped vics cold turkey and it was really tough for 4 days for me but I am still weaning off morphin. We will both feel so much better, I can already feel a great difference in my body. Hang in there and use this site there are alot of great people here with great advise.

Just to clarify was taking up to 20 10/325 or 10/500's dailly.  Was on oxycodone for a few days after the surgery but I switched back to hydrocodone after 5 days of the percocet.  I want to choose life and put this behind me.  Time is so slow right now.  Sweating and uncomfortable,
