youre welcome!   i found out the hard way on that stuff =[   My friend was super sick when he all the sudden quit taking them... the dr told him there's no way that he was withdrawing because they are non narcotic.. but he was way to messed up for them to be so "safe" so i researched the heck out of them! even down to the scientific makeup of them! lol and i found out allot about them! i think more and more people are starting to realize it too. whats funny is about 6 or so months after he told her that he was really sick(of course he was better by then) and she said they are safe you must be sick from something else, he got a call from the PA she told him that he needed to start "weaning" off of them because she wants to lower the dose sense he was getting a higher dose of something else. So i guess the dr heard about being sick from them from more then just him! other wise i dont think she would be using the word wean.. They are wonderful lil life savers as far as pain goes but the pharmaceutical companies need to be more honest/clear about what they are putting out there... i also found out that Vicodin and other meds like it and Xanax dont mix well and also tramadol and other anti depressant's and Xanax and other meds like it dont mix well either. the dr's go by how the benefits outweigh the risk's. some scary stuff what can happen when you really do some research and picking things apart! a good place to look for drug interactions and the level of interactions is on webmd and you can look up any drug on wiki look and you'll get all the details on them...

Thank you for the info...I had NO idea...obviously, that Ultram/Tramodol was much like Effexor.
I worry about Trazodone and my Cymbalta...I think I will research those 2 combos. I know it wasn't recommended for mixing with Zoloft...moderate interactions...kinda scary. Not so sure with the Cymbalta tho.
Again, thanks for the info!

ultram/trammadol has the identical make up of effexor. i looked it up and did alot of research on it a while back. some people take it just for the mood enhancing properties. it is not yet listed as a controled substabce but it is slowing making it's way into that catagory. pharmacy's around here have put new warnings on it and i have seen alot of it on this website and alot of others. it can also be used to treat opiate w/d's it blocks them. thats awesome that you havent had any effect when you stopped taking them! my neighbor seems to be alrite when she stops or forgets to take it for a day or 2. she only takes 1 maybe 2 in a day though. i have gotten a buzz from them... they give me energy and help me to give a crap about things that i dont care about but should. i abused them though. some dr's will say they are non narcotic and non habit forming and other dr's will tell you just how addictive they are specially when abused. in the last few years it has come to the forfront in pain management so its only a matter of time before it is deemed a narcotic. be careful with it though! It has been compared to heroine w/d's. i wonder what makes it so different for some?? i'm sure abuse of it dosent help..lol.

Ultram are NOTHING like anti-depressants...they are a non-narcotic pain reliever.
I take them and have gone off of them more than once and NEVER experienced withdrawl symptoms. But each person reacts differently.
I suggest you see your prescribing doctor and ask what is happening...perhaps body chemistry plays a role in some people that do experience withdrawls from this drug. As for me...I take it for chronic pain...get no "buzz" from it and found that it wasn't all that much helpful for my pain, just takes the "edge" off...but I will be going back on it today because my pain is getting worse and I need something other than an anti-inflammatories.
I wish you luck...demand answers from your doctor.

there can be many. i'm not an expert on this by any means but i have gone through them and seen someone close to me also go through them and both of us had some different things going on. for me it really affected my brain alot more then it did my body. ultram/tramadol are almost identical to efexor witch is an anti depressant so taking it long term can really affect your emotional stability... i would be bonkers for at least 2 days  and i had these weird shock feelings that would start in my head and shoot down to my toes it is a weird feeling and it effected my eyesight a little bit. and i would also have bouts of restless leg syndrome. i couldnt sleep and i didnt eat much. the body stuff lasted about 5 days or so and the mind stuff lasted about 2 days. for my friend it also affected his mind he was very agitated and would snap at the drop of a dime and he said it felt like every muscle in his body wanted to explode... he got goosebumps alot and he experienced restless legs. You shouldnt just stop taking them it's definately something you should taper down with. good luck!
